Well, it has been a while since I last updated, I considered just scraping this whole thing quite a few times, but I suppose I’ll start writing again (and by writing I mean typing this entry, I make no promises).
Thanksgiving break was awesome. Whole family decided to congregate in one place-our house-for the first time in many years. Food was delicious: the turkey was juicy, the potatoes were soft, the casseroles were avoided as usual, and the deserts were sugary goodness. We followed up the dinner with a short siesta and a viewing of After the Sunset, which was quite good.
Apparently my mom also decided that the thanksgiving get together was going to double as a “bring Mitchell gifts for his birthday” time as well, so I came out a few bucks ahead, no complaints there.
I slept in until noon or so on Friday; then we went to see National Treasure, which I heartily recommend to everyone. Nicholas Cage once again plays a thief, but hey, he does it well, so I suppose it doesn’t really matter.
Went to Jeff’s that evening, which was awesome. I donned by UT hoodie before leaving and upon arrival I promptly rubbed in the fact that we had crushed A&M in the game earlier. His dad put up his apathetic façade, but I wasn’t convinced, he’s just bitter :P. We listened to Guster and played some games that we had rented until late Saturday. Prince of Persia is an awesome game, we finished that one off after playing it almost nonstop from Friday evening until Saturday around 5 (with a short break for sleep and Marvel vs. Capcom, of course). We were pretty much left saddened by the monotony of Jak 3, so we didn’t even bother with it further.
After that I went home and installed Sid Meier’s Pirates!, which happens to be a very fun game. Played that until about 5 am yesterday morning and then hit the sack. Woke up around 2, played Pirates! for a few more hours, packed and then left for UT around 7.
All in all, a wonderful extended weekend followed up by a miserable week of cramming and 2 subsequent weeks of finals. *tear*
