Bastet, Eye of Horus

The Lexikon gives, as one of the names of Bastet, B3stt-irt-Hr, "Bastet, the Eye of Horus", represented as a standing lioness-headed mummy wearing the white crown, and written like this:

However, there's a note that both reading and interpretation are uncertain. So - this is my idea of fun - I've been banging and crashing about trying to find the original, which is on a naos for the god Sopdu dedicated by Nectanebo II. I got a crash course in inventory numbers trying to find "CG 70021". In the end, though, I simply stumbled across what I needed: the free online text of The shrine of Saft el Henneh and the land of Goshen by Edouard Naville.

The book includes a detailed drawing of the naos' decoration. Running my eye across the cast of thousands of gods, I found the lady I was looking for, third from right (this is a detail from Plate 5):

Unfortunately, it's nearly impossible to squeeze more detail out of the low-resolution scan, but here's a somewhat cleaned-up version:

Even in this rough image, though, I think it's pretty clear that the caption is not "Bastet, Eye of Horus", but "Servant of Horus", thus:

And in fact, when I went looking for Hem-Hor, I soon found him, in Egyptian Mythology. The author, W. Max Muller, gives Naville's book as the reference - but is also uncertain of his reading. (I must go back to the Lexikon to see if Hem-Hor is attested from anywhere else.)

So much for "Bastet, Eye of Horus", alas! I'll have to continue my search for connections between the Eye of Re and the Eye of Horus elsewhere. A mystery remains, though: it wasn't Naville who came up with that reading, so who was it?

ETA: Found it: Günther Roeder, in Naos, 1914. There's even a photo in volume two, but (at least in this free online copy) it's not detailed enough to make out the caption.

ETA: and now, the punchline: a naos from Bubastis has Bastet call herself (unambiguously, this time!) "Eye of Horus".
