We packed up at 1:28 a.m. Monday "morning" to leave for South Carolina. Steve slept all day while I packed, and then once we were on the road, it was my turn to sleep.
I fell asleep in North Little Rock and woke up in Birmingham. Then I woke up, politely offered to drive he next leg of the trip, and after Steve declined (crazy man!), promptly fell asleep until Atlanta. It was a solid eight hours.
We got to Myrtle Beach around 3:30 or 4-ish, checked in, and began unpacking. Almost immediately I discovered that I had forgotten to pack some Very Necessary Undergarments. Oops.
After unpacking, we set off again (because we just hadn't spent enough time cooped up together in the Civic) for food and a Wal-Mart. We remembered the groceries, but once again forgot about the Very Necessary Undergarments. Dang.
Highlight: I never once came across anything resembling an unclean bathroom....at least none east of Atlanta. It was a bit freakish.
Most Alarming Conversation to Have in a McDonald's: I accidentally eavesdropped on a very dapper older gentleman as he discussed pap smears and STDs with a younger couple over styrofoam cups of (bad) coffee. He had brochures and everything. Strange locale, if you ask me.
Scary Proclamation on the Back of Cheap Condo-provided Miniature Soaps: Contains absolutely no animal fat! Ew.
