sick and tired of *$&#^% actors reading the *^&$( bible

Zondervan is coming out with a new audio bible featuring the voices of some prominent actors, including Denzel Washington, Angela Bassett and others. Samuel L Jackson will be the voice of God. Well, I wonder how that compares to having an anti-semitic actor known for foul language, violence and nudity scenes produce a movie about the crucifixion of Christ?

The producers of this audio bible finally decided to let anyone (christian or non-christian) participate in the project so that they could get the best talent and because there were christians and non-christians in the bible....

I guess that makes sense, I mean, if Steve Jobbs is better at explaining computer stuff, why not have him teach your Windows seminar. or if Chirac is more eliquent, have him give the US state of the union speech.

Projects like this turn the Bible into nothing more than quaint stories. the actors reading this dont believe what it says, and they certainly arent the type who represent the morals of the Bible. some argue that more people will get saved because they will listen to this audio recording to hear the voice of the stars and will hear the gospel. Well, that is possible, but my argument against any christian commercialism is that it turns away more than it brings in. after Mel Gibson's drunken rage (which I anticipated to a certain extent and even warned fellow bible classmates about), how many will get saved from watching his "passion" movie?

I believe God is more likely to bless the work of his faithful children than of the devils. harsh? sure, but i think i am telling it like it is. Although I guess if we remain silent the rocks will cry out. I guess it is just sad that we have been so silent that it is not the harmless rocks, but the non-christians who make a poor representation of our faith who are crying out in our place.
