new workout results

Ok, so this week can be summarized as "MY LEGS ARE IN AGONY!!!" Holy Crap - doing three sets of widestance barbell squats, three sets of freehand lunges, and one set of one-handed deadlifts is a really significant increase over just three sets of freehand squats. I know this and yet it was a surprise when I woke up last Sunday morning unable to bend my knees. Wow.

The good news is that, even though my thighs hurt like crazy, they hurt pretty evenly - the tops, the sides, the bottoms, down by the knee, up by the hip, etc, which tells me that I'm balancing my workouts to work all the muscle parts. Go me.

And I think I added some beef to my quads, hams, and glutes this week. Enough muscle, in fact, that I didn't actually lose any weight, even though my measurements changed pretty dramatically.

I'm also started to wonder if this fancy "test your body fat" scale I have is just a big load of horseshit. My body fat percentage is ALWAYS directly proportional to my weight - if I weigh myself, drink four glasses of water, and immediately weight myself again, my body fat reading goes up. And I thought it was so useful...

Anyway, here's this week's news. Notice I've lost another inch off my waist:

Weight: 185.4 lbs
Body Fat: 26.1%
BMI: Overweight
Chest (inflated): 43.25
Chest (deflated): 40.25"
Waist: 37"
