Every once in a while, the Catholic Church does something that makes me proud.  Rock on, brothers.

Muahahaha. I saw that linked the other day elsewhere and was immensely amused.

It makes me wonder what else is behind the shiny new advertisement campaign.

(Does one poster count as a campaign?) *shrug*

Well, I don't think that this is really a campaign - this was made by a youth minister in Indiana who printed up a few dozen and posted them around his diocese. Then it started getting national attention and now it's out of control.

This is exactly what the church needs - grassroot creativity out-distancing more traditional, top-down hierarchical models of authority. Woot.

Random, thought you would be amused -- I played in a Dread game at GenCon which was set in a 14th century monestary. I was the abbot. The monestary itself was beset by demons, plauge, angels and what have you (we had a bad batch of beer which was giving us hallucinations). While most of the PCs had the reaction of "we have to take up arms and kill the demons" my character bared the door of the chapel and did nothing but pray, fast, and exhort others to do the same.
