(1) "Seat study".
On the first day of class, my instructor wondered what criteria students have for picking seats/tables as they fill up a classroom. My answer, rather belatedly, is this: people have a tendency to gravitate towards seats/tables with no people first. (The exceptions are when people see familiar faces; that's when they head for the familiar face(s).)
(2) Last weekend, in a shop with imported CDs...
I spotted a package of Legend of Galactic Heroes episodes that had
this picture on it, except Julian's head ... had been replaced replaced by Mittermeyer's. It was 30+ dollars.
(3) Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne.
