Round 2 - Post!

The title should be a fair example of the grip fighting games took on my psyche over the years - I might go over a peculiar correlation between a certain character's look and development over the years and that of my new room one of these days - now's not the time, being at work and all. That sort of thing should be simpler when I bring the laptop from the folks' place.

Cooking is now an actual option at home, as tested yesterday - still, I gotta learn to get used to put something on the meat beyond salt when grilling it - I don't think I have much of a sense of taste, but perhaps it might be worth trying to work on that over time... maybe even becomes a natural process as I get used to having more control over what I have for dinner. Lots to learn over time, but seems possible. As things stand, my taste buds seem to only detect 3 major taste categories:

1 - stuff I like,
2 - stuff I can eat
3 - stuff I regret eating.

Here's hoping I can rise a bit above that. I've manged to pus some stuff from categories 3 to 2 a few times, so the ability's probably there in some form.

On the subject of food, Corte Inglês's supermarket revealed itself as a place where I won't be buying fruit - the bags are placed in a way that makes it an employee's job to pick the fruit and put it there - I like to examine my doctor repellers (apples) one by one when buying them.
Apparently there's a place near home where I can buy fruit, but I doubt it's open by the time I'm back from work, so it's likely to be a weekend-only option, gotta learn more about the places around there...

One of the free newspapers mentioned today that a teacher got fired for telling that Santa Claus doesn't exist in class - I worry about education often, and it doesn't help when someone gets fired for telling the truth...
Are people worried about traumatizing their children with that sort of thing? Well perhaps they should reconsider how serious their mentions of the character in front of the kids are in the 1st place, it's bad enough that when they have to hand them over to someone else to educate for most of the day...

I really gotta post some of my pet links and names on the subject here one of these days...

education, food
