As welcoming their live concert in Nagano, so it’s a topic about soba as the place's well-known stuff. Furthermore, there is a question about what Matsumoto had picked as condiment as he was enjoying his soba meal during [VSA] shooting. And it’s actually an upgrading of the question with two correct answers out of six options. [well.. it’s difficult..] said Sakurai. But too bad, he only got one correct answer for [dried-plum]. And the question about what Sakurai enjoyed in Rio, Matsumoto got his quick answer right and the reason was flawless too.

Q1. What are the two condiments Matsumoto-san would like to put into soba? (to Sakurai)
A.      Fermented soybeans
B.      Grated-radish
C.      Nameko mushroom
D.      Green Onion
E.       Yam
F.       Dried-plum

Q2. During his trip to Brazil, what was the thing Sakurai-san would likely get interest with? (to Matsumoto)
A.      Music
B.      Sightseeing places
C.      Gourmet
D.      Soccer

SPECIAL TALK
The current happening of “Matsumoto-Soba” and even the nostalgia of “Sakurai-Soba”
櫻井 : to begin with, what would likely interest me while I was visiting Rio de Janeiro.. it’s an interesting question but you answered it very well..
松本: because there’s no way you would have time to relax, right… you were there to cover the Olympic so the only thing you could enjoy in such a short time is food, I think..
櫻井 : definitely.. within these four things, except gourmet, it’s impossible for me to catch up with.. even at media center, it was quite hard to find the local dishes. if there had been time I would have tried to eat something like churrasco, perhaps.
松本 : and it also took 24hours-long flight from Japan, right..
櫻井 : yep, I was dealing with documents during the flight which is fine.. but I did something too..
松本 : ok, next is my turn.. what kind of condiment I would like to put into soba. Well.. I’d love to have all of them!!
櫻井 : I think I noticed during [VSA] shooting that you often put pickled plum to soba.
松本 : yep.. and I put grated-raddish as well..
櫻井 : akh.. so it’s radish.. I didn’t notice that..
松本 : within these, I won’t take something like “nameko” (sort of mushroom) but I’d love to put the rest.. I wonder if I’m a type who loves eating soba with lots of condiments or without any of it..
櫻井 : so, it’s about personal taste, isn’t it.. I like natou (fermented soybeans) but I prefer to eat it without having it combined with other dishes..

Matsumoto talks about whom he met recently and Sakurai talks about curry rice
Previously, we had “Aiba-Soba” and it was served as “soba with chilled nattou and big portion of green onion”
松本 : yep.. it’s the guy who loves putting tons of green onion
櫻井 : there was “Sakurai-Soba” too… I put boiled-egg and *menma into *kake-soba.. like the ones put into ramen. But I think only Aiba-kun can eat that “Aiba-Soba” don’t you think?
松本 : don’t you think it’s the same thing with “Sakurai-Soba”? (laughs).
櫻井 : and for that “Matsumoto-Soba” Ohno-kun enjoys it as well, right..
松本 : yep he does..
櫻井 : I prefer warm-soba and because your soba isn’t really like that, so… (laughs)
松本 : because I prefer cold-soba…

Here’s the next topic. The Arena Tour is reaching its final stage, isn’t it…
櫻井 : we’ll be in Nagano, next. It’s actually the third historic place for me. They are Gunma, Kisarazu, and Nagano (laughs). I was clinging to Nagano during “Kamisama no Karute”
松本 : since we’ve never seen what MIWAVE (= place or coorporation's name) is like.. so I can’t wait to go there.
櫻井 : then, let’s get to today’s battle. Yuriyan Retriva-san was amazing.. (laughs)
松本 : it’s my first time to meet her
櫻井 : I think I’m the only one in Arashi ever met her before. I wish we could tell more about her awesomeness.
松本 : a new star has come. Someone doing their joke material completely before going home is rarely seen these days, right..
櫻井: it was so much fun.. Yoshimoto-performers are awesome together so it felt pleasant even if we’re competing with them.
松本 : because sometimes they're in mass chaos too..
櫻井 : can’t wait to work with them again.
松本 : next is our current happenings. Well.. what do I have for this… akh! I ran into Tegoshi on Shinkansen. I didn’t notice him at first. But then, my manager told me, “it’s Tegoshi behind us” and when I saw him, he was wearing such a huge sunglasses..
櫻井 : yabai ne
松本 : when I asked him what he’s doing, then he answered that he’s having trip for 24hour television. he’s still the same Tegoshi wherever he is, right..
櫻井 : darn!! you’ve got this cool encounter…
松本 : and it was fun… it was the same staffs we had by the time we’re doing 24hour television show.
櫻井 : …. (keep on thinking)
松本 : since it’s been a while so I was having some conversations with them…
櫻井 : ….. I’ve got one too!! it’s when I was interviewing Koizumi Shinjiro-san in Yokosuka.
松本 : akh, I watched it. It was a good talk…
櫻井 : owh, you watched it… and then we enjoyed “Yokosuka-Navy-Curry Rice” it’s been decided that I must go for “Navy-Curry Rice whenever I visit Yokosuka again.
松本 : so how’s the taste?
櫻井 : it was tasty..!
松本 : what a great happening..!

note :
*menma = bamboo shoots boiled, sliced, fermented, dried or preserved in salt, then soaked in hot water and sea salt
*kake-soba = buckwheat noodles in hot broth
