The video of the soldier on the news shooting an unarmed Iraqi insurgent was disturbing but I am not shocked. Most of the people in the states do not appear to be upset by this turn of events. I realize that this is really bad for world relations but what war is'nt. The fast transmission of information has given us views of military conflict we have never seen in the past. I doubt this shooting is somehow unique or like anything that has happened before. I think people expect these things to be like the movies, over in two hours with a clear cut good and evil. Its all evil and death. The soldier in question was shot the day before and had fellow soldiers blown up by planted bombs. The court of public opinion will not convict this soldier, I hope the government slaps him across the wrists.
