People ask me why I am stoic, why I never, ever ask for help and why it is that when I need help I will never accept it.
After the day I have had today I have realized it’s not me.
Let’s begin by saying I admit I am anal in the cleanliness of my house. One too many people have remarked that everything does Not need to be clean and ship shape 24/7 but I cannot break this habit. I clean the bathrooms every day without fail and the towels are ironed. I like clean what can I say.
Yet I have lost the deposit on my home in the USA.
Buh bye $700
Before I left the USA my dog had puppies. I know, I know, not well timed but then neither was the move back to the UK. A dear friend kindly offered to take the pups for 3 days until they could go to their new homes and she would then deposit the money into my bank account.
She doesn’t even reply to my emails anymore.
Buh bye $2000…
I had the sweetest tenant in the USA he would have done anything for me, including marrying me so I could stay in the USA. He fell behind in his rent badly but I knew, well at least I hoped he would find his feet again and pay the money into my account once he got sorted. I tried hard to get him to look after himself and helped out as much as I could by doing laundry, cooking meals, being a listening ear. He doesn’t answer the phone.
Buh bye $1400
When I was arranging the move from the USA to the UK I found what I thought was a reputable moving company. I parted with $1000 deposit only to be told 2-3 days before the removal that they couldn’t do it. I had to find another company within 48 hours and ended paying $3000 extra.
They are due me my deposit but because I am now out of the USA they have decided that my deposit may take another 6 weeks to process and they are not quite sure as of yet that because they offered me service 4 days later that I wasn’t the one who broke the contract.
Can we say buh bye $1000?
Now ask me why I don’t trust.
The best has yet to come however, I am just waiting for it and there is nothing I can do about it. Money means nothing to me in the big picture. My children however do.
Now ask me why I moved from the USA and I might tell you.
