Today on the bus, I met a lady named Ericka. She recently moved here from Tijuana with her two kids, and told me that she always wanted to be an amazing painter.

She saw my A.I ID and wanted to know a little more about the school and such, so we got to chatting, and it turns out Ericka really really likes to paint.

I never have time anymore, because I love my kids, but I really miss painting. I'm really good at painting.

I liked that she seemed so confident about her art, but what she told me next really took me by surprise.

In Tijuana, they have these really poor art galleries that are kept by the public-- and I had a couple of paintings there. These guys from Washington came down and saw my work- and they liked it. So they gave me a room in one of their galleries in Seattle.

That's when I go-- you have art in Seattle? They really liked it then!

And she laughed. I guess. I can't see them though. I moved here 'cause I had problems back home. I miss my home, and I miss painting. It's okay, though.

Somehow, listening to Ericka made me realize that I really had a lot to be aware of. Heck, I have painting. I have some home.

Hopefully I'll see her again soon, doing what she does best.

its hot in my room orz, not so bad strangers
