So the exterminator came today. He determined that our unwanted boarder probably went as soon as he came, and probably through the toilet in the basement. He did a whole walk around in the basement, garage, and outside, giving me tips along the way. He ended up only charging me $35 since he really only did an inspection AND if I see the rat again, he'll come out for free. So my anxiety is greatly diminished and I can go back to the basement to finish the laundry, but it's still there a little. At least I have the peace of mind knowing that if it got upstairs, the dog would bark up a storm and the cat may try to catch it. Oy, this whole situation gives me the creeps.
We were supposed to go to the zoo today, but will have to wait until later in the week. Tomorrow is the commissary. And sometime this week is a playdate with classmates of both the kids. Then school starts Mon. Goodbye summer, we hardly knew ya.
