So it's been a while. Let's see what's happened .....
1. I bought a sewing machine. I have my grandmother's, but it needs a tune up and something's not quite working on it, yet I have never taken it in due to my laziness. Eventually I will, but seeing as how I don't know how to sew, and I WANT to know, I bought a wonderful new, small,
sewing machine, for less than $100 due to it being 40% off, woo hoo!!!! So I've been teaching myself and have sewn 4 baby blankets and eight burp cloths. Yay me. Yesterday I started a bag and have bought the material to make the same style bag, but it will be our diaper bag. As a result of all this sewing, I've discovered there are some things I *really want* to make things easier, but don't want to spend the money on right now, so hopefully for my bday I'll get them.
2. Pete's scarf is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I finished knitting it, all 12 feel of it, and just need to block it and add the fringe.
3. I bought a pregnancy naval ring for my newly opened naval piercing. It's flexible and long, so it bends with the expansion of the belly and is long to account for the stretching of skin. It feels *soooooooo* much better than my ring. I also bought a curved barbel for after the baby's born.
4. School starts on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to it, but at the same time not. Eh, it's only 6 weeks long. And it's art history, so it won't be too bad.
5. We're halfway through obedience lessons with Rivka and she's still not sitting. *sigh* I think I'll have to retake the class instead of moving on to the next level. It's frustrating.
6. I can't remember what #6 is.
7. The kids went to the allergist last week. There's a whole lot more I can talk about this, but for the sake of my blood pressure, won't. So I'll just say that O'Bryen is allergic to peanut, egg, ragweed, and tree pollen and Gavriella is allergic to cat and peanut. You can all sleep soundly now knowing this.
So now I'm officially in my 3rd trimester. Which means I already can't eat as much as I used to. I'm clearly calcium deficient and have TONS of pain in my legs at night that keep me from sleeping. So yes I started taking calcium. But it was just yesterday so no alleviation of pain yet. My medium sized maternity shirts aren't fitting and are making my belly poke out from under my shirt. The shorts aren't helping either because they come up low on the belly instead of completely over. So now I think I have to buy new clothes again. *sigh* I started swelling, which SUCKS because I never swelled with my other two. It's not that noticible, but to me and Chris it is and i'm revolted by it. I had an appointment last week and got blood drawn for routine tests. I also needed a shot and they tried to convince me it needed to be in my ass. Oh no in the arm I said and pulled out the card that showed I had the same shot at 8 weeks in the arm, so just do it already. They did and then I had to wait 20 minutes to see if I was having any adverse reaction. I didn't and they let me go. However, the adverse reactions didn't start until 30 minutes after the shot and I was on the highway by then. My blood pressure had dropped, not dangerously so, but I was starting to get lightheaded and dizzy. But we made it home ok and I stuffed myself full of food and water and layed down until I felt better. I've been having trouble with my blood pressure doing that anyway, so thankfully I knew what to do. Then the next day went back for the glucose screening, it checks to see if you're developing gestational diabetes, and the tech pricked the SAME vein (artery, whichever one it was) and the SAME spot, so not only did it hurt a lot more than it should've, I now have an even bigger bruise. We still don't know the baby's gender, but I have a sneaking suspicion it's a boy. Eiter case, we still don't have any names picked out. Good thing we still have 3 months left.
Anybody a Bright Eyes fan? Last weekend Bright Eyes played a free concert at this park by our house. I'm not a fan so I forgot. But it poured buckets and the crowd stayed and the band played on. So kudos to them. We could hear it from our house, but the way sound travels it was all muffled by the time it reached us. And the college world series is playing here. So lots of excitement in Omaha. But after this it will go back to being boring again. Que sera sera.
Ok I think that's all.
