Spring Break Trip Day ONE! (And everything before day one)

HoOrAy FoR sPrInG bReAk!!! I think i'm going to keep a travel diary here for those of you who want to check it out. So lets begin! After everyone was out of class on friday afternoon we all hopped into crammed cars (Darcy and Myself in her car, Holly and Katie in Hedw1g, holly's car). We drove the short hour to Indianapolis to Darcy's house. Darcy is the only Indiana native, with the rest of us representing Columbus, St Louis, and Las Vegas. Needless to say, she lived closest. So we plunked down our stuff in her room and headed out to Massey's for pizza dinner. Yay pizza! Her parents are totally awesome, as we found out. Her dad is quite the joker and her mom is... well... her twin, only slightly more neurotic. In like, that adorable mom way. So, then, the four of us drove out to the local shopping mall for some last minute clothing items. I managed to find an adorable new black and purple dress, and a black two piece swim suit. Delightful! Once we were all shopped out for the day, we jumped in Darcy's hot tup (with her dog) and ate chips and dip and chips. Watched some TV, and crashed.

Once we all stumbled out of bed Saturday morning, We were greeted with a MASSIVE coffee cake, and a panicked look from Dora when she tried to make coffee. She got so excited when I entered the kitchen, "You make coffee! Can you do it!?"... hahahahahah. I got skillz. Saturday was another shopping day, only this time we went to a big big big many story mall, more similar to City Center (the mall on Friday was more like Easton). We did even MORE shopping there at some nicer stores, and by nicer I mean, H&M, XXI, Express, etc. I ended up with two new tank tops, and... that... might be it? Dora came with us. Oh! And when we entered the mall, there were a bunch of football fans around and I passed some OSU spirit wear wearers on the escalator... I was like OMG BUCKEYES! And they got all excited and I yelled OH to which they responded IO and then ALLLLLLL the people from Indiana (which was everyone) glared at us. It was really funny. I was happy. So... we got REAL shopped out after all that, so we headed back to the house and chilled for a bit, then went to dinner at BJ's which is like an American Burger place. Very nice, HUGE building. Good burgers. I was pleased. After dinner we ran to WalMart for some last minute necessities like sunscreen, towels, food, etc. After that we were DEAD tired, so we semi packed up the car and fell asleep. Well, apparently Katie and Darcy fell asleep... Holly and I were both awake most the night but didn't know the other one was so we were just bored.

Regardless. 5:30 rolled around sunday morning and we all slithered out of our beds, to get on the road. Some last minute packing and another pot of Lillian Brewed Coffee began our morning, before we all hopped into Hedw1g, and got on the road. We returned to the house shortly after leaving to retrieve Holly's glasses, then really hit the road for the 12 hour drive to Pensacola, Florida. We started the 2.5 day long driving playlist I'd put together before we left, but despite the loud music, Katie and Darcy immediately fell asleep. Holly was driving, and I stayed up to keep a second pair of eyes on the road. She drove the first 3 hours, 6:45-9:45 and started getting really tired so I happily took over. I ended up driving 9:45-4:45, the heftiest chunk of the trip, because the rest of the girls were sleeping so peacefully and I didn't really mind. I was rocking out to my playlist so I was cool. We stopped for lunch around 12 and I drove again after that. At 5 Darcy took over (she's a Pensacola native) and got us to the hotel around 6. Apparently I drive fast. We were POOPED when we got here but that totally didn't stop us. We showered and got on some cute clothes and headed out to the boardwalk to find a dinner spot. We wandered up and down the rows of bars and sketchy shops, across the peer and some beach area and then we found a really cute burger place and had burgers again. :) we wandered into a tourist shop then, wandered out, stopped at a convenience store for Coca Cola slurpees then plunked down in the room. We watched some TV, and slept like rocks.

Our alarms went off at nine this morning, we shuffled to breakfast in the lobby, shuffled back upstairs to find our internet was working. HOORAY! And... now i'm writing this blog! Hopefully I'll be able to update more regularly now that I have working internet. It's been GREAT so far, we're laughing like maniacs and so excited for 1) no drama, 2) no work, 3) warm weather. Everything is awesome right now. Anyway, i g2g shower and put on real people clothes before we go out today, I'll update later!
