Author's Notes: Woo! The last post of 2007, I can't believe it!! Haha, well Its been a good year. Anyway. I was totally in love with the word absolute when I wrote this, thus it came out like this. I tried to make it sound like they were...incompatible in some ways, so to portray the idea of "weeds", because weeds are something that build and no one really likes. I...I like this somewhat, but I can't help thinking it could have been better....somehow. But anyway. :)

It doesn't matter now that they were once enemies. As hands intertwine and feelings bond, bringing them as close in all ways as they were in their hearts, it means absolutely nothing at all, because it's over. In the moments of silent promises and secret vows, despised truths and the forgiveness beyond them, it's impossible to miss the absolute affection, the absolute trust that's developed between them.
It's always been that way.
It didn't matter then that they both wanted the same thing either. With blades clashing and hearts racing and blood spilling; all that mattered was lust and greed and the desire to be better, to take out the other. Everlasting darkness and unyielding light, fighting and lying and cheating and trying to be the first, the only. And only in the single instant that changed the course of destiny, the moment where one decided he would fight for the thing he really wanted, was an undeniable absolute revealed; an absolute honesty that lead his heart true.
Always the hero. Always the enemy.
And whether or not it will always be like this, set in stone and only changed at a moments notice, when something within them breaks; whether the passion that now engulfs them will be replaced with greed and betrayal again, they do not know. There are still tendrils of the opposition that linger within them both, and it will never be perfect; darkness, though it complements the light, will always be it's absolute opposite. But for now, within heated kisses and stolen breath they'll work it out; leave the weeds within to travel as they please.
And until then, when the mellow between them dissolves; when the light and darkness recede; when the land and sky decide not to touch beyond the horizon-
- together is an absolute.
