[Waking up in a strange bed, in a strange room, in a strange house, in a strange house, in a strange -- well you get the idea. It was bizaree. But welcoming. Tsubasa looked around for a moment to figure out where she was and quickly realized that this setting looked familiar. And soon a flood of memories came to her - Mayfield ( Read more... )

You're glad to be back? ...It's not my business, but I can't help but be curious- why?

[She vaguely recognizes the voice, but responds normally.]

So it is strange. I had a feeling it would get that kind of reaction.

I-it's not that! It's just that, well, you know how people don't usually like this place and prefer to go home, s-so this isn't something that happens often! That means you probably have a good reason.

I can understand that. This place has a lot of things not to like. But, it also has things you can like! For example - the pastries at the bakery are fairly good. And the drones are pleasant enough.

I guess, that's true, but.... when you compare the amount of good things to the amount of bad ones... is it really better than being at home? I just don't understand...

So it really is surprising. I see. [Recording this mentally for later reference.]

There's not much I can do about it since I'm here. Might as well enjoy the time I get to have here once more. What day is it exactly?

I guess you're right... no use moping around too much, huh? Making the best of it would be a good choice. Um, according to the calendars here, it's..... Tuesday, November 23rd.

[Tuesday the 23rd..............................]

It's almost Thanksgiving here! I wonder if the butcher would still have turkeys available this late.

Yeah! That's right, they celebrate it on the 25th in America, don't they? --This reminds me, isn't today Labor Thanksgiving...?

Yes, it is. They must be holding festivals there right now. But, that doesn't concern us since we're in 1950's America. ...Japan might not have even establishing Labor Thanksgiving as a national holiday yet, unless Mayfield is living in the post World War II era.

Oh...? Wait, that's wierd.... if we're in the 1950's, wouldn't that be after the end of the second world war? I mean, I'm not good at history, but I'm pretty sure that World War II ended in 1945.

...That's true isn't it. [She laughs a little. Not in a bad way, but it actually sounds like a genuinely happy laugh.] I feel so silly. Let me think...Labor Thanksgiving was established in 1948, so yes it would be celebrated during this time! You're absolutely right.

And I'm wrong! Mistaken! [She keeps laughing. Finally she can prove she doesn't know everything!!]

T, that's not what I meant! I mean, I'm not trying to be condescending or anything, I'm just, well, history and studies isn't exactly my strong point, so I'm not usually right about that kind of stuff...!

You're not being condescending. I'm congratulating you! I'm glad that you're able to excel in something you're not normally good at.
