Painting a room is tough work, particularly when you are doing it by yourself. Lots of climbing up on a ladder, reaching, bending, more reaching... My whole body is tired, so I'm taking a break today before tackling the master bedroom tomorrow. Unfortunately, the master bedroom is bigger than the office was, so what took me 6 hrs yesterday will probably take me 8 tomorrow. Calling in sick on Monday keeps looking better and better.
What annoys me about the office is I was so careful with my taping, but the previous painters were so sloppy. When I was done, there was a white ring of the previous paint on all of the woodwork. The new green isn't very dark, but it still made the old white paint show up too much. So this morning, David and I went around with tiny brushes and painted over the sloppy paint on the molding, as camouflage. I hate knowing that we added to the paint on the wood, but it does look better. The green paint even makes the orange wood look good.
So, I'll try to get the rest of my books, DVDs, and CDs packed today. It's mind-boggling how many boxes it takes to clear off a shelf. And I have a lot of shelves. Still, I'm looking forward to the move being over. And especially the painting being done.
