This was a very busy weekend, though I didn't expect it to be. David had vacation this week, so we had a very rare Saturday we could spend together. We went to see the greyhounds at the PetSmart, which was fun and I think David liked them. The adoption group is really trying to find a home for Fantasia (she has been at the last 2 Meet and Greets).

She is a real sweetheart, but I think we would want one that is a little more confident. Greyhounds love being with other greyhounds, but she especially doesn't want to do anything without another greyhound right beside her.

We went to the mall to go shopping for a Mother's Day present for David's mom, and then we drove around Berwyn looking at houses posted as being for sale. There were quite a few that David didn't like the look of the neighborhood. Although I really like the look of all the gorgeous old bungalows, I had to admit it was a little unnerving to see all the houses with signs posted in the windows that said "We call police." Plus, we got stared at a lot in certain neighborhoods. Some kids even took our picture with a cell phone camera because we were looking at them/their house--I imagine their house is a foreclosure and they will be evicted soon, since there was no "for sale" sign in the front yard and they were none too happy about looky-loos. The neighborhoods got better as we moved further south, though, and the second-to-last house we went by actually looked good enough to want to take a tour inside. The location would be quite a bit farther from
work for both of us, which does cause me some concern, but it is questionable whether we will find anything around our price range in Westchester, our preferred neighborhood.

I spent Sunday with David's family for Mother's Day, which was nice. We went to dinner at Sawa's Old Warsaw in Broadview, which I hadn't been to before. Polish food seems to be a lot more of a family staple in this area, no matter what your ethic origin, than what I grew up with. Then again, I grew up with Springfield-style cashew chicken, and Chinese restaurants around here don't even know what that is.
