Chance Encounters

In the middle of the crowd, i saw you by chance

I froze on my feet, and stared from a distance

My heart was a mess, i was completely breathless

As you walked down the road, so fine and flawless

We were closing in, so i tried to look away

Afraid you might notice and take it the wrong way

I tried to act natural, but it wasn’t easy

Coz i was hoping that somehow you’ll recognize me

But i couldn’t help myself, so i stole a few glances

I rarely see you around, so i’m not taking any chances

And right then and there, our eyes met accidentally

At that very moment, you had your eyes on me

I was stunned for a second, i didn’t know what to do

You simply smiled at me, like i’m a friend to you

So i smiled back then lowered my head

At that very moment, our encounter ended

You’ll never know how worked up you get me

With the little things you do so perfectly

Maybe i can muster the courage to tell you someday

But right now, these things, only through this poem, i can say
