Log: Watari and Kinnison

Watari comes home after being a girl for a day and gives Kinnison a special gift.

Watari grumbled to himself as he headed through the boat to his room. He began to fumble in his kimonos for the key, one hand grasping the doorknob to keep track of it and not loose sight of it thanks to the sheer volume of his kimonos.

Kinnison, hearing the commotion outside, padded over, unlocking the door, and opening it. "Watari? Is that you?" Even Shiro had cocked his head, waiting to see.

Watari sighed when Kinnison opened the door. "Thank the goddess," he sighed and moved in, reaching up to begin to pick the fake flowers out from behind his ear.

Shiro padded over, sniffing at Watari, while Kinnison looked confused. "What is this that you are wearing? It's very soft and bright."

Watari looked back at Kinnison and tossed the flowers on the bedside table as he began to work at his obi. "Kimonos," he said. "More specifically those worn by upper scale women."

"Oh." Kinnison blinked, going to help Watari with the strange looking bow. "Why are you wearing it, if it's for ladies?"

"Queen dared me in that game of truth or dare," Watari sighed as he lifted his arms to let Kinnison held. When the Obi was undone, the robes fell open and loose and be began to gently refold the expensive cloth.

"Ah! I see now." Kinnison chuckled, pressing a kiss to Watari's cheek. "It's pretty fabric-stuff though."

Watari smiled and turned to kiss Kinnison back. "That it is. Expensive and exquisite." Pauses as he takes the first off and folds it. "You'd look exquisite in them."

"Me?" Kinnison shook his head--- someone elegant looking would look nice in them. "Maybe miss Luserina, or Majesty. They have that elegant look to them, I think. Me, not so much." Kinnison grinned a little.

Watari chuckled as he pulled the last two off and folded them as well, then wrapped them in special protective sheets and put them in a delicate box and slid it inside the closet, near the back, where it was out of danger, and was now parading around in tight pants the reached to his half-thigh. "Fine. Not kimonos. But you would look lovely in a yukata."

"What's that? You-kata?" Kinnison tried that word out on his tongue.

"It's that decorated robe I'll sometimes wear instead of my normal attire," Watari explained. He went to a drawer and pulled his out - a dark blue/purple thing with stitching of silver and white that created the images of cranes, mountains, reeds, and clouds.

"Oh yes! I like those." Not only becaue it looked nice on Watari but because it meant the man was relaxing, or trying to. "It fits you. The decorations, I mean."

Watari slipped it on and tied the knot. He smiled and reached inside a second drawer, and suddenly pulled out another one. He unfolded it to reveal a second, smaller yukata the color of a dark spring leaf bud. Stitched into it with silver and white thread was an image of a wolf, a moon, mountains, clouds, and trees.

"Oh, wow. That one's new, but it's beautiful Watari. Will you wear that one later today?" Kinnison's eyes traced the yukata up and down, smiling a the wolf.

Watari chuckled. "No, Kinnison. But you can."

“Me? I can't wear that, it's art."

Watari chuckled. "Well, it's to small for me. In fact, I had it made specifically for you, dear heart."

"...You did? You really did?" Kinnison hesitatently put a finger on the collar. "I have no idea what to say; thank you doesn't seem enough."

Watari smiled gently, watching Kinnison inspecting it. "Yes, I did. I was waiting for a time to give it to you, and... well, I suppose the conversation just made it right."

Carefully so as not to crush the fabric, Kinnison hugged Watari tightly. "Thank you...."

Watari smiled and kissed his lover. "Come. Let's try it on. I'll show you how to wear it."

Kinnison nodded, disrobing quickly to stand ready for Watari's instruction.

Watari nodded and held the robe open for Kinnison to slip into. "You put it on like a normal robe, folding it across the body. After that you take this -" he showed him the matching tie - "and tie it like this."

Kinnison stood like an overgrown doll , arms out, watching how Watari tied and folded. "How do you like it?"

"On you? It's lovely," Watari murmured.

Kinnison blushed a little, but pleased Watari liked the yukata on him. "Thank you, it's a wonderful gift."

Watari beamed, cupping Kinnison's cheeks and kissed him. "I'm glad you like it. I worried it wouldn't be... your thing."

"I think it's lovely, it looks like the forest." Kinnison beamed. "It's a very thoughtful gift. Thank you."

Watari smiled and kissed him once more. "Come. Let's go down to the cafe. I'll cook us some dinner - yes, that means you too Shiro."

Shiro was already at the door, pawing at the wood gently enough. Kinnison chuckled, pulled on his ankle boots, and followed both Watari and Shiro.
