HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY -- and still walking on 'Metropolis' air because there's more & more news!
Good morning all! To all my friends in the United States, a very Happy Independence Day.
Because I'm still walking on air thinking that out there -- right now -- is the pretty much complete version of Fritz Lang's Metropolis, I started checking around for more news. Will be checking all day I figure until I find more.
Okay...found this on YouTube -- this is the trailer for the most recent restored version, the one that fans pretty much figured was going to be it. I was tickled to see that one of my LJ readers wasn't familiar with Metropolis, because I love introducing something special to someone. So here you go!

The restorers will have a lot of work to do, but then, you should have seen what the recent restored version looked like once upon a time!
Seems like the news is coming, and coming fast and movie buffs and silent movie buffs are about to go up the walls and across the ceilings in anticipation. I can't wait to hear the reports out of Buenos Aires, which is where it's being shown (or was being shown).
I'll pass on some of the comments on AICN -- some of them are getting way off track LOL
OMG! Digital Bits says that Kino will have the COMPLETELY RESTORED EDITION on both Blu-Ray and standard DVD in 2009!!! http://www.thedigitalbits.com/#mytwocents. This may be my excuse for getting a darn Blu-Ray LOL
I think that's it for now. My hope is that whatever they manage to restore, no matter what shape it's in, it'll finally bring about the cohesion the movie needs.
Now...let's just keep George Lucas away from it....FAR away from it! Far, far, FAR away from it! *bg*
