Ghost of Halloween Past
FaceBook has made for some interesting resurfacings - this is one of 'em.
For a bit in college, I dated this super-nice guy. We ended up splitting up for a number of reasons - not least among them that we were completely unsuited for each other and he had a bunch of family stuff going on.
Those of you that were around at the time remember the amusement this particular night presented. For those of you who weren't, well, I'll explain.
See, this was 13 years ago - right about now, actually - we had been dating for a month or two, and it was time for his fraternity's annual Halloween party. Being broke-ass college students, we hadn't much money for actual costumes, so we were rummaging up something from our respective closets (and those of our friends), when we hit upon an idea and off we went. I borrowed some stuff, he borrowed some stuff, and when we got to the party, all of the brothers were like (whispering) "Um, Kappa, didn't you tell your girlfriend this is a costume party?" "Yep." "Where's her costume?" "She's wearing a costume." "No, she's not, she looks like all our girlfriends look all the time." "Yeh, not this one, guys. Trust me: this is a costume." "Um, ok. What are you supposed to be?" "Her. *grin* And she's being me!" And then we would laugh wildly. I think it's safe to say most of the Kappa Sigs in attendance TOTALLY were confused.
The leather? Mine - still have it, and wear it every winter. The collar? Mine. Still have it, too, though now Hattie wears it more than I do. And doji_shiri did his makeup. *giggles*
I'm really more glad than I can say that he's popped back out of the woodwork, 'cos y'all? He's still a great guy.
