Two things:
1) Fur: An Imaginary Biography of Diane Arbus is beautiful. It was pretty roundly panned by critics as having no relationship to her actual life, and Arbus fanatics will be irritated by the fact that she's played by Nicole Kidman. But the film, as a piece of art with merit of its own, is gorgeous. Lovely colour work, drean-like cinematography, and fantastical surrealism. I approached it not from the direction of "This is a literal retelling of her life" but from the perspective of "This is her perception of the world around her" and that made it work for me. It was a lovely interpretation of a dream world.
2) Can anyone reccomend a corsetier who does quality work that isn't in leather who isn't Volliers or Dark Garden (read: is affordable). I like Alter Ego's stuff, but I have no desire to own a leather corset. It just doesn't work for me. So, please: Corset reccs!
