Alright.  So, I can't decide--at this point--whether I would rather this day restart itsself entirely and flow on a different path.

As of when I went to bed (about three am) my plan for today (a snow day with REAL snow--3.5 inches) was to wake up (around noon, hopefully) and then clean my room until three, (this lady (is/was) coming to evaluate so we can sell it) shower, and then head to work around 3:30.  Sounds good, right?

But NO.. It just couldn't go like I wanted it to.  It figures, hm?

I woke up at precisely 12:13.  I decided it was time, and I should probably start on my room.  After some Cheerios, of course.  I went to head to the kitchen.  As I stepped out of my room (which has a wood floor) into the living room (which has a carpet floor), I realized that the floor was wet.  I didn't think much of it, at first, because I thought that maybe I mom "WetVac'ed" it, for the lady and whatever.  As I continued on, the carpet was no longer wet--until I got to the stairs.  At the bottom, was another puddle like the one outside my room.  I called up the stairs and asked my mom if she had done some cleaning; she denied and asked if I had done something to make the carpet wet.  When I told her it was really, gushing wet, she came down.  We went into the unfinished basement, and the most wonderful thing happened.  Just kidding.   The unfinished basement (still loaded with boxes to go through (including lots of books and valuables)), we met a pool of about an inch/inch and a half of water.  The water was gushing down the wall like a waterfall or faucet.  It was horrible.  My mom called the builder and stuff and he arrived, with plumbers in tow, at about 12:30-12:40.  My mom and I started moving boxes out of the way, important ones--like theones with the pictures and stuff that ruins in water (ignore the fact that BOXES are actually CARDBOARD  and DIE in water)  and whatnot.
Then my mom told me to try and call out of work.  Now, keep in mind, at the store (FYE) there are 3 managers and 4 employees.   There has to be one manager in the store at all times.  Allen, the main manager dude, lives out where snow would be a real problem, and wouldn't be able to come anyway.  Beth was coming in later that afternoon, and Danny, who was already there was going to a concert later at night (which would be nowish, anyway) couldn't, for obvious reasons, fill in.  There with Danny was Eli.  Now, Eli is an ass.. Simpls as that.  He works two jobs, FYE and at UPS (I don't know what); he had UPS after work at FYE and probably couldn't stay.  After I told Danny what was going on, he went and called people (Shane and Lauren.)  Shane NEVER answers his phone, and I don't know about Lauren.  Anyway, about 1:30, Danny told me that he couldn't replace my shift.  I told him that it was no big deal, I could try and come in anyway.
Soon after, my dad came to help move stuff.  He said the roads were horrible and I shouldn't go to work.  I told him that they couldn't find anyone to fill in.  After arguing and whatnot, my mom opted to take me.

On the way to work, we pass by a creek (right where 221 turns into four lanes, after leaving Bent Mountain).  I was staring aimlessly out the window.. and all of the sudden, I see a dog in the water.  I think it was just barking.. But I tell this to my mom.  She turned into the drive, and we pull into the REALLY long drive way that runs by it.  I got out and started walking around the snow trying to hear the bark.  I did.  And the dog, like a miniature Lassie, was in the water.  I slid down, of course covering my work clothes with snow, and luck have it, slipping my foot into the water.  But I pulled out the dog, whose name was Hobo.  My mom and I called the number on his tag and after talking to the owner (who was in Minnesota) found out that we were at her parents' house.  We took Hobo up and the guy (who I assume was the owner's father) was smoking a cigar.  He didn't seem the least bit concerned.  Anyway, I bet Hobo is nice and warm now.  I'm a hero. (:

After my mom picked me up from work, and we drove back up the mountain, the roads were still semisnow covered and icy.  I think that tomorrow, the busses won't be able to come up, and we'll have another snow day.  One can dream, hmm?  I really don't want to go to school tomorrow.  Ah well.

So, I guess I wouldn't want to redo the day, just to undo the whole basement incident.  It really sucks.

Much love,
<3 Kayce.
