So.. on November 26th, I wrote a letter the amazing JayKay (Rowling).

The letter of which I speak is:

Dear Ms. Rowling,

I can imagine that you receive a google of letters daily, and I can guess that they don’t all get read (though I hope this one will).  I have been an unyielding fan for ages-I remember when my fourth grade teacher read us Philosopher’s Stone and I wanted to read Chamber of Secrets shortly thereafter.  With each new book, I am sucked deeper into my fixation for the world of Harry Potter that your ingenious mind has created.  When Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them came out, I was really excited and enjoyed them just as much as the others, and, I’m pleased to say, much more than any school text book I’ve ever had.  However, these two extras made me wonder-what about Hogwarts, A History?  The title is always popping up and is referenced to often, especially by Hermione-from their first appearance in the Great Hall to her repeated reminders that no, Harry, Voldemort cannot Apparate into Hogwarts.

So this has led me to my main question... Will you ever consider writing what would be your version of Hogwarts, A History.  I mean, I know that I’ve heard that once Book 7 comes out (which I’m very eager to read, by the way), you’ll be through-no more Harry Potter writing-but is there any hope at all?  It would be wonderful to see not only what is always referred to, but also know the story of Hogwarts, more than what is given anyway.

I can hardly contain my impatience for next summer (I hope?) and Book 7, even though I am saddened to think it is the end; and I hope that you are, in fact, considering, even in the back of your ingenious mind, eventually writing Hogwarts, A History. And if you weren’t-well, I hope you might now.

So, if this letter ever does get opened and read, I honestly thank you for taking the time to read it, Ms. Rowling.

Sincerely,

A devoted fan from across the pond,

I admit that I never really expected an answer.. I mean, honestly, how many superstars (coughcough) actually answer fanmail?  I mean, maybe the first couple of years, but it's been tenish... ANYWAYS..

TO THE ROOT OF MY EXCITEMENT...

I got an answer.

That's right.

Now, I really don't know what to think about it... It seems that it's kind of prewritten, and it doesn't directly answer my question.. BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT...

IGOTANANSWERFROMMY,LIKE,FAVORITEAUTHOR.  IT'SSOAMAZING. <33333

Dear Kayce,

Thank you very much indeed for your letter.  I love hearing from fans, even though I now get so much mail it is impossible to answer everybody by hand, as I used to!
I am now workoing hard on Harry Potter Seven.  As you can probably imagine, I cannot quite believe that I have reached the last book in the series, and part of me would like to stretch it out forever.  I won't, though--I value my personal safety too much.  Anyway, I am really enjoying writing it, so at least I shall end the series as I began:  treasuring every moment I get to write!  Little did I imagine as I sent off the manuscript to 'Philosopher's Stone' that I would be writing book seven with two more small children in the house!
It always gives me a huge lift when people like you take the time and trouble to tell  me how much you enjoy the books, so than you again for writing.  I hope you like the last book when it comes and that all your pet theories are probved correct (and, if they aren't, that you don't mind too much).

With very best wishes,

I am extremely happy... I guess it would've been cooler if it was hand-written or there was an actual written signature.. BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER.

ALL THAT MATTERS IS THAT IN...

160 days, 23 Hours, 20 Minutes, and 20 Seconds...
HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF PHOENIX will be released in theaters.

167 days, 23 Hours, 20 Minutes, and 20 Seconds...
HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS will be read by ME.

I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it...

Much love,
<3 Kayce.
