The problem with writing research papers in French is that my language ability goes to hell and I mix up French and English in the same sentence. It's the same thing for when I'm trying to explain interesting things that happened in my French courses in my other courses or to friends and I forget what the translation of certain words are.
Though to be honest, nothing beats the time I was in Quebec for a month speaking French the entire time, and whenever I would call my mom and speak in English, the later it was, the more I had a French accent. Good times :)
