Peaches is gone.
She went peacefully, in my arms, being cuddled as she so loves. She didn't suffer, and she didn't struggle.
To say I am devastated is an understatement. I am sobbing as I'm cleaning up the crumbs of rat food from my desk.
My boss is wonderful. She cried when I told her, and asked if I wanted the afternoon off. I said thanks, but no. All I have at home is an empty rat cage.
Thank you, all of you. You've all been wonderful through this. Your kindness and special words mean everything to me.
