All right, I give up. I surrender. Powers above, do whatever you choose.
Facts: hubby must attend some event in Paris on Tuesday; I am particularly worn out at the moment; he'll need help with his speech; hotel room rate is the same for one or two persons.
So, in an unusual bout of bravery, I decided I'd go with him and made reservations.
Everything considered, I should be able to snatch a full day (and perhaps another afternoon) doing whatever one does in Paris in winter: a stroll along the quais and Marais/Les Halles if the weather holds. L'Orangerie for sure (I've got tickets! It was always closed on previous occasions.)
Not to mention: nice brasseries, real breton crepes and cider, terrines and Beaujolais Nouveau. Bière de Noel (mmhh... I'm afraid it's too soon for that)
BUT.
It is snowing.
Hard.
The oddest thing actually: last time it happened so early, I am told by older residents, dates back to the 70ies.
Maybe it's just because I am planning a not-exactly-but-nearly-vacation in Paris, and "Someone" is playing jokes.
Hey, if there's anybody over there: come on, this is not amusing, you know?
