Shubunkin and work

Aug 23, 2005 09:18

OK, I admit the title of this post is a bit cryptic. Shubunkin are a breed of goldfish, like Koi and Comets.

As mentioned by singingnettle last night, we got four Shubunkin for our pond out back. They are all a very pretty mottled set of colors ( Read more... )

IF "The Boss" = "Happy"
THEN Rejoice = +1
ELSE Rejoice = -1

We keep frogs in our pond. They are cheaper (provided free by Mother Nature) and achieve the same end (no mosquito larvae). But perhaps not so esthetically pleasing.

We would love frogs, but they are not as easy to come by around here. Next spring I will go looking for tadpoles. I inquired about ordering tadpoles but the catch-22 is that you can't get native species, and you can't release non-native species.

Re boss code: there is something deeply wrong with a culture in which whether boss is happy or not determines the order of one's life.

The key to any boss battle is figuring out what their weakness is. Usually, the are invulnerable to all your normal work, and you have to do something special to beat the boss. See if he has a jewel in his forehead you can smash, or some kind of power belt. Be careful, the bosses tend to regenerate fast too.

I usually stop playing once I get to the boss battle myself. I always hate that part.

I will keep that very useful advice in mind at all times.

Although I pretty much left the game, myself, 'cuz it just didn't seem like you could really win.

Hmm, yeah, on review I can see where it looks like order. I though I was simply adding a "weight" to the amount of rejoicing that someone got the SOB off their back.

Heh. I like the frog idea, but there aren't many in this immediate area -- certianly not enough to make a dent in the mosquito population. (And the pond is actually probably a bit to small for them w/rt surface area.)

Ours is pretty small; then again as I mentioned, we get our tadpoles/frogs from Mother Nature, so they work out the proper population density for the size pond. Then again, again, even though we aren't quite (almost, but not quite) sub-tropical here in North Central Baja Georgia, it's probably a more forgiving biome than your area for frogs.
