For those of you who have no idea WTF I'm talking about, a heisenbug is a bug that changes (or goes away) when you try to find or isolate it. Jargon File
Right now the UI on my project was occasionally crashing and showing other signs of fandango on core -- that is, of course, until we put in code to observe what's going on, or link it with a memory watcher (such as electric-fence.) At which point the program behaves normally.
