Before I get into my actual review I have to say that this is literally one of my favorite stories that I have read lately. No joke. Best Banter Ever Award! These two...I just want to shrink them and put them in my pocket so they can banter back and forth all day and amuse me! Hehe. *coughs* Uh yeah anyway...
I absolutely loved the Chlo-Lo in the beginning. I think you did an amazing job of capturing both of their voices as well as their interactions with each other. I've gotta say though that the best line in that whole scene was this ==> “Have a little faith in me, Lo,” Chloe replied. She rolled her eyes as she finished her coffee and turned to wash the mug out in the sink. “If I was the kind of woman who fell for Oliver’s charm, I would be doing the walk of shame from his penthouse right now instead of getting ready to leave for a job interview.” She set the mug in the dishwasher and turned back to her cousin. “You worry too much.”
Oh how I love snarky Chloe and you write her so well!
I wish I could give you a quote from my favorite part of the Chlollie banter, but no lie I'd have to quote the whole scene and then it wouldn't fit in one comment because LJ fails...yeah haha So I'm just going to say I love you Oliver to death. You capture his arrogance, but beneath that you capture and show some of the person he really is here. Sure he's cocky and a bit of an ass, but he obviously cares about his Father's company and he does what he can to make it excel and he's going with his gut, but also being honest in his own ass-like, cocky charming way *swoons*...*coughs* Anyway haha you captured him really well, Chloe too and you did a wonderful job of them interacting so much so that I can actually see this scene playing out. *happy sigh* I can't wait for the sequel! ♥
LMAO. I ♥ you, C. I know I already told you, but I will tell you again. I'm so happy you enjoyed this so much, especially their banter. That's always fun to write and I don't blame you for wanting to carry them around all day in your pocket. (Well...it's a little weird, but I get it).
Hee! Chlo-Lo are always fun to write especially when Lois is trying to be protective-big-cousin and Chloe is all "mmm, no." Hahaha. Snarky!Chloe is fun.
Ollie is so arrogant in this universe. But you're right; there are glimpses of his heart and how much he cares about the company. And he's smart so he knew right away that Chloe was perfect for him. *coughs*
