KNDS is at WAR with Corporate radio and we need the ammunition!

There is an FM station out of Lisbon, North Dakota that was been granted a construction permit to upgrade to a full C1 station. This would give them city grade coverage over the Fargo market. As KQLX T 106.1 is at what is called a first adjacency to our channel of 105.9 we are going to create interference to them. As an LPFM (non-profit community station) we have no protection against this move-in. We have been requested to reduce our power significantly to eliminate the overlap in signals, but in doing so we would reduce our coverage are and also literally be BURIED by their incoming signal. They are planning on having their upgrade complete as of June 15th.

We will be applying for a frequency change and ask for a wavier from the FCC to move to that frequency.

Once we are granted permission to move, our real work begins. We have secured a tower site and permission from the owner to rent space on that tower. But we are going to be facing some SERIOUS legal, equipment and construction costs.

It will be our responsibility to raise $7,500 by September 1st!!! This is what is either going to make or break this organization. I am not going to give up this fight!

We feel the up most respect and love for the listeners and bands that we have gotten to know, have grown to love, and have helped grow. But we NEED your help. We put the power of your listening pleasure in YOUR hands! We give you the RIGHT to choose what YOU want to hear, the RIGHT to have a station with variety, and the RIGHT to listen to music without the bombardment of commercials and propeganda! The www.radiofreefargo.com website will be updated this week with a paypal link and mission statement. This paypal link will be able to accept any donations. If you have an extra $3, instead of buying a pop and some snacks, PLEASE donate to this worthy cause! It may seem like a small donation, but EVERY bit helps, and that $3 is still $3 that we did not have in our funds before you so graciously donated!

There is a paypal linked button on the main part of www.radiofreefargo.com where you can donate money to help KNDS stay on the air. You could also drop by the station and donate by check, money order, or cash. We also, usually, have a donations jar with us at the Red Raven shows. We're working so hard to keep things going. We've appealed to the NDSU student government, we've spent so much of our own time and money to bring you so many events, and we haven't expected anything back for it all but now we need you to show us that we truly have your support.

Isn't a station with so much variety a station worth paying for? We're not asking for $100 donations, $5 is all it takes.

Our DJs voluteer their own time each week to you. Please, help us out with this as members of the community and supporters of this local station
