Work =)
Well I finished Day Two of work and so far I LOVE IT!! Yay! for doing exactly what I always said I wanted to do. Working for a cosmetic company is awesome. Haha.. granted it's only day 2 so you'll have to check back in a few months. Yesterday I did a lot of reading about shampoo. Since I will eventually be making my own formulations I need to learn about the chemicals that go into the shampoos. What they do, how they interact, all that fun stuff. After lunch I made my first shampoo!! (with help of course) I can't wait to try it out tomorrow morning.
Today I had a lot of orientation in the morning which was boring. But the afternoon was absolutely busy in a great way. I helped do some claims testing, made a shampoo/body wash (again with help, again can't wait to use tomorrow mmm... fresh baked products mmm.. chocolate brownie), and I got to see some salon testing. They have their own in house salon and whenever you have a product to test you get to be there to see them test it out on a client.
My group is my boss and 3 other women. So its just us girls with the shampoo, conditioner, and stylers. There are a couple men in the lab but it's mostly girls. In fact the company is mostly girls. My desk is in the lab by the window.. yay! for no cubicles.
For the first two days I really couldn't ask for more. Hopefully it keeps going this way. Right now the only thing that sucks is the commute. Blah for 30 miles that take a good hour to hour and a half. Ah well hopefully Dave finds something soon and we can move a little closer.
