I think it says something about my major (and especially my major at Reed) that I can recognize the word for prostitute in Greek, as well as a number of words for blood and slaughter (includinging parthenosphagos, which means "blood of a slaughtered maiden"-- thanks Aeschylus!), without even thinking about it but I have to look up much more mundane nouns all the freaking time. I can identify at least four different words for "spear," but I always forget the word that means "immediately."
Also the word for wagon-- I will never forget that thanks to Nigel.
And don't ask me to string together a sentence on my own. : P
YAY FOR GREEK (I really do love it, even though I fear it doesn't really love me much at all)!
