Ok, so I cleaned my room today. Took me a long time because I've been gone for a while and I just got back. The only thing is, I had to clean it because my great-aunt is going to be using it for a week. Michelle, the eldest daughter of Ruben Rodriguez, is being displaced to the couch in disgrace. Sigh. The only highlight of said cleaning was a phone call from Vanessa. Talking ensued as I stuffed stuff in drawers to avoid actually putting it where it belonged.
Later in the day, I walked to Blockbuster to return a movie for my mom, and perhaps to rent a movie of my own to watch during my tenure on the couch later in the evening. I was there for about 20 minutes trying to pick out a movie I liked. When I found one up to par, I walked up to the counter, money in hand, only to find out that I had to have either my Blockbuster card or photo ID to rent a movie, neither of which I had in my possession at the time. To top everything off, I tried to exit out of the entrance, a feat which everyone knows is impossible in Blockbuster stores because there's no handle on the inside of the entrance door. After finding out all of this information, I promptly left.
As I walked across the parking lot to Kroger, I contemplated why I was taking the journey by myself. The answer presented itself to me in a matter of seconds: I had no friends. No, actually it was that I was too conscientious to call someone up and tell them to drive 15 minutes to my house (that's how far away all of my friends live from me since I don't go to the school that's in my district) for the sole purpose of walking with me to Blockbuster and Kroger and then back. After comntempating said thought, I reached the doors of Kroger. Ah, Kroger! I went directly to the M&M's and grabbed 3 bags, after which I picked up a small notebook that I had long desired. As I went to pay, the U-Scan wouldn't take my dollar, so I had to cancel the order at least 3 times before the cashier got mad at me and told me to stop and give him the dollar. All I can say is that it wasn't my best experience at a facility I hold in such high esteem.
After my overload of ordeals at said establishments, I thought it prudent to walk to nearby Constitution Park and read my book, Coma by Robin Cook. It's a medical thriller, and I find it quite intellectually stimulating, as well as thrilling. After reading my book and consuming M&M's for about half an hour, my mother came and picked me up.
All in all, it wasn't a particularly enjoyable day, but at least I got outside for a bit. Now, I'm off to Blockbuster with my mother, who has the Blockbuster card. Yessssssssssssss.
