Hey girl! Join this community, aspecialparent. I joined it because I saw it in the LJ spotlight. Its mainly for parents of special needs children. So far most of the posts have been about children with autism. It'd probably be a good spot for you to write about your concerns and if you have questions they'd probably be answered by a parent with longer experience w/ Autism.

Hey Dori, if you don't mind me asking, where on the spectrum is Madison? What degree does her autism seem to be?

I dont mind at all...Madison is high functioning. After testing through the school system and her pediatrician she seems to be medium to high. Next week we have a follow up appointment with her doctor to discuss what medications he wants to put her on to help with some of the symptoms (anxiety, attention, etc) Im terrified, but I know it will help her.

I've tried to read a lot because my best friend has Aspberger's. It's frustrating and fascinating at the same time.
