Student Art At The Movies

May 03, 2005 01:08

I had just completed another assignment for my spirit-sapping art class the other day when I realized to my surprise that I had accidentally rendered myself (somewhat poorly) as an inhabitant of Sin City. This is what happens when you do minimalist self-portraits using only compressed charcoal. I was also pretty amused when it became apparent that my shading scheme had turned my regular glasses into those legless nose-clip-on sunglasses that Larry Fishburne wore in The Matrix. Anyway, I'll share it with you.

Edit: It is worth noting that the sunglasses picture I linked to just now is hosted by a site that is actually devoted to the sale of the specific sunglasses worn by the various characters of the Matrix films. Some of them are going for as low as twenty-three dollars. You're tempted, aren't you?
