meryl has resorted to reality tv show cliche soundbytes as her primary mode of communication. i believe it's a callback to my last sentence, which is itself a bastardization of catch-phrases from project runway and rock of love. what i wouldn't give to have tim gunn meet heather and bret. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. anyway, that's most of it. as for flushing the demonic doll down the toilet, that's a reminder of my worst day as a teacher when i made an off-the-cuff joke about wanting to flush a little girl's doll DOWN (sight word of the week!!) the toilet because it had scary glass blinky eyes, which are the worst of the worst, obviously; and i may teach kindergarten, but i am not immune to the undead existing in my class and waiting to kill me. i mean, i put up with a child who licks his shoulder all day long; just picture that little darting tongue-- but the doll! needless to say, the 5 year old's sense of humor was lacking and she cried for her mommy the rest of the day. god. it's not like i said i WOULD flush it, just that i WANTED to. I should have made a venn diagram showing things that i WOULD do and things that i WANT to do. semantics are totally lost on those who just mastered the potty. in the end, i made her stop crying by letting her sit at my desk while the class all pointed and laughed at me, a ridiculous old woman afraid of dolls. they liked that because if the simpsons has taught us anything, it's that there's no justice like angry mob justice, and, let's be honest, i just like it when all eyes are on me.
