Crazy at work, crazy at home. Crazy crazy crazy.
So first news! We sold our Budweiser Ale spot! Technically, Bud could call us up and change their mind --at any second before it actually airs, BUT as long as they DON'T, I'll get to produce a TV ad and see it all happen and EVEN--POSSIBLY--see it run during the Superbowl.
See, Budweiser buys a bunch of time slots for the Superbowl really early, and then they have a lot of time to decide what to put in them. They produce a ton of stuff, and whatever does well in focus groups gets to run! I think the deal is: they have specific time for Budweiser, specific time for Bud Light, and then specific time for Whatever Else. So it's out spot versus these other guys' spot, plus probably Bud Light Lime or Budweiser Select or whatever else they want to put in there. So what I'm saying is: it's not for sure going to be a superbowl spot. But it COULD be. And that's awesome.
Anyway, at this point for me, it's all about learning about the process. And I'll get to fly somewhere for the shoot, which is awesome.
Work is kindof insane even without that, though. because they're trying to pair me with Art Directors around here, who all have their own things going on. So besides the Wrigley's work I have to do, I keep getting put on other accounts with other people. So there's been a lot to do.'
ALSO, we moved floors. Which is annoying. DDB doesn't even own the whole floor that I'm on now, and it feels a bit like The Forgotten Floor. Nothing's very well organized, no one comes down here because it's so far away that it has a different set of elevators, and there's just not very much action. At least, compared to before when we were on the same floor as Budweiser, it felt like we were in the hub of things, where stuff gets done. Now it feels like some stupid office floor, where the microwave is far away, and every door you enter requires your key card.
And finally, I'm moving on Saturday! It's going to be a very disorganized Halloween. That is for sure. I have to pack and clean everything on Friday (so I'm taking the day off for that) and make sure I'll be able to be moved out by Saturday afternoon. I'm getting a moving van and everything. So then I'll be unpacking, redecorating, re-groceryfying, and getting acquainted with my new roommates, Monica and Charlie! Charlie is a cat, technically. But I am still excited because we are going to be new best friends.
Anyway, that is my life right now.
