OK this is going to be long ish...

OK so My mom and I pick up Courtney York at 7ish and get up to camp at like 8:30...We get greated by this older lady and she is like ok guys come over here and sign in and so I told courtney to go first and the lady was like so you guys are here for the womens getaway right. pause umm no.all of us laugh and then steve tells us that we are in Oak...GREAT THE HAUNTED ONE!!!...get to Oak and meet mary and say hellos...get settled in and head up to the lodge for another round of breakfast...more staff gets there and we play some sweet icebreakers...have lunch...more icebreakers...we go on a scavengar hunt and every team (3 teams) has one person with a disability.I was mute...so our first clue takes us to the bike shack and umm no clue then Rob drives up puts it on a bike then goes and puts up the rest of our clues...we are on our third clue and it is at the horse barn and we CANNOT find it for the life of us..Rob drives by and is like I can see it from the road..The clue said something like Candy, Mandy, and Tim make their home next to this red house (we KNOW it is the horse coral) so we are looking over to the side (literally) and we cant find it on the posts, ground so we start to walk a bit twards the teams couse see it like 20 feet AWAY & in FRONT of the coral and then go to the amatheater and find our next clue that said something like grab a rock, yell a few commands, get your dinner, plus we are inside..so we all think OK Lodge..head from the OPPOSITE side of camp up to the lodge and we all grab a rock walk into the lodge and none of the staff is there..we see B.P. and I am like screw this whole being mute thing and I ask him where are they..Grotto..read it and DUH! how stupid lol so we walk UP the 89.9 degree angle hill on the OTHER side of camp to get to the grotto..get there every one is there laughing at us and drinking water so Mike (hull) tells us to grab some dinner and a seat and all there is is water..none of us say anything and get water and a chair..then he tells us that all we are having for dinner is water.......umm.......then he tells us to pack everything up and head up to the lodge, so everyone starts packing up and he grabs the foos from in the truck shows us and is like sit back down..here is dinner.....no one even complained about not having food for dinner, they gave a smart reason as to why not..but yeah...Then we head to the sled tube and then play kickball in the almost dark with a red ball, so twards the end we could barely see the ball...Then we go on a night hike where steve meets us in the woods and we did a really nice devotion and then headed back to our cabins for bed....
Sunday...Wake up and head to the lodge for breakfast at 8...eat at 9:30 ish...Then do a camp tour with steve so that we know what to do/say for the open house...people start showing up for the open house and I get paired with Smalls and go figure he didnt really talk! The last family that we took out was a mom, dad, 2 boys, one of the boys friend, and their daughter who was like 5...we get to the sled tube part and she wanted to go down and then she looked down the tube and said in THE cutest voice "no way jose" it was SOO cute...The Open house ended said some quick good byes and then headed home...
I miss camp already...I am such a sap lol
Going back in less than a Month and am getting paid!! Sweet! The staff this year is going to ROCK like none before! no lie I am so excited!!
And uhh even though this isnt supposed to happen but there is no way of avoiding it...you can already see the people who are going to hook up by the end of the summer..no lie lol
