Three weeks of living in the same house as William Darcy was giving Lizzie a bad case of the hives. Maybe cabin fever. Cabin fever? Could you have that if it was a huge mansion with its own guest wing? And if it was the middle of summer?
Whatever. She had it, anyway. She was trying her best to put on a good face for Jane -- and she was really happy to see Jane getting so much alone time with Bing, too. But her nerves were wearing themselves raw.
At least she had her videos. She had been deep in the middle of editing one when Bing had knocked on her open door.
"There's ... mail for you?" he had said, holding out the letter. He almost sounded apologetic.
"For me?" It looked important; the paper was thick, and the envelope embossed. "I swear I'm not giving this out as my address."
They were just staying, temporarily, while the house was renovated. Which was supposed to be finished a week ago. Yet another one of her mom's convoluted plans: keeping them here indefinitely so Jane could "snag" Bing.
"Oh, it's fine," he said easily. "Must have been something that really needed to reach you. So ... lunch is in an hour, okay?"
Lizzie nodded, and watched their host leave. She couldn't believe Jane had managed to find (and fall for) the one guy in the universe as nice as she was.
And then she tore into the letter. Which was distracting enough to yank any thoughts of Jane or Bing straight from her mind.
She read it over twice, waiting for something to explain the joke. It didn't ... make any sense.
Neither did the plane tickets which fell out of the envelope. Ones with her name on them.
... what? Maybe if she read it a third time. Or a fourth?
(for the NPC-sister only, please and thank you!)
