Lifeskills 101.

Today, I was stuck in a situation that I didn't know how to get out of. I was stuck with colleagues with a car problem, which is a total foreign area for me. I didn't know how to handle it, neither was I of any help with the problem. I was stumped and I hate being helpless.

The first thing that I could think of, was to call my dad. The handyman, the technical know-it-all, and all-things-that-adults-would-know-how-to-handle man. Lifeskills that all of us should have, there are so much to learn! Although my dad did not save the day, but he did advise me with step by step instructions on what to do and how to solve the problem. Fathers are such legendary people, no? I love him so much for that, for always knowing what to do in situations. After today, I made a promise to myself to learn how to deal with a car situation when I get my own in future. You should have seen that scene this afternoon - 4 girls stuck in a basement carpark, with a car that refuse to stop ringing, shouting and screaming and panicking, trying to figure out how to turn that crap off. Priceless.

Today's incident also made me realised that, only in such emergency situations that you will know for yourself, who you can really rely on when you are in trouble.

And how about you? Who is the first person you would call, in emergency situations?
