I gave up on politics

a while ago I realized the content of politics was primarily arbitrary. No reason to support one side or another except personal whim.
And the same goes for the majority of belief content. People believe things because they feel like it and this leads us through human history.

I thought some this week on how History is taught. With an emphasis on historical details (events) rather than chronological evolution of beliefs, so many are robbed of the great benefit history can serve to all, not only to better understand why circumstances are as such today, but also gives insight to why actors in "power" make the decisions they do.
I don't like grand conspiracy theories about shadow governments and new world orders. I greatly enjoy the saying, (paraphrased:) contribute not to malice that which could be better explained by stupidity.

If Bush was so stupid, and and the world leaders so stupid, how do you suggest they're smart enough to be part of some secret cabal of cultural design. The whole Congress conspires to keep this a secret? Or are they somehow ALL out of the loop, even though they work[ed] with the people in power before/during/after their roles in the executive branch.
I just don't see the evidence for it. People talk about cryptic societies established hundreds of years ago (Mason) whose lineage works to this day to maintain control of power in the world. I forget, are the Mason's jews? Or did they create the holocaust? Because a lot of people also say that Jewish bankers control the world.
where do people get these bigoted, simple minded explanations for how reality works?

Despite having graduated from prestigious schools, and successful careers, most President were not all that special as far as human beings go. Circumstances were such that they became President, they did what they wanted, and certainly have their personal rationalizations or explanations.
But some people are just out of their chairs. Cheney was a member of a think tank called "Project for a New American Century" before he was Vice President; A neo-conservative think tank which recommended invading and restructuring the middle east to make it more manageable in the future when oil issues arise.
Despite this clear explanation as to why George Bush wanted to Invade Iraq under false pretenses, conspiracy theorists say "it's more complicated than that." Really? Are you going to say William F. Buckley was really pushing an NWO agenda when justifying vietnam?

I'm done with this.
