I have to wonder about my parents. Their lack of social standing of any kind. Not that they are incapable of achieving it, but that they have no desire to sustain it. Most of the parents of my friends have their own circle of friends with whom they spend time regularly. My parents do not. My mother has not the time for it, but throughout my memory of her dealings, she has done nothing but lose friends and acquaintances. Every one I can remember her having has drifted away one way or another and all the ones she gained she has fallen out of touch with by now save one or two. T*s*(he)y fall(s) back on (t)he(i)r family and expect more than reasonable attention from them despite (t)he(i)r campaigns of whom the obvious casualty is filial attachment.
