I've been getting gigs coming in lately which has been nice. At least on weekends, anyway. I played for a woman's 50th birthday in her backyard on Saturday which was awesome: good$ and top-notch BBQ brisket. Oh goodness.
I'm still waiting to hear back from a local music academy about a teaching job and a country club about a regular weekly solo piano job. Here's hoping....
Weird thing on the church gig...apparently the youth director (who I'd never met) was caught with porn on his computer. I mean really, how stupid could you possibly be? So they had this whole extra tag to the regular service where they had this formal statement followed by a "pastoral message" to put it into "context." It was handled OK I guess but it was sure weird playing a few songs after that. Our new music minister on this gig seems nice and fairly open to ideas which is good.
Generally, things are looking up.
