Cassie, once again was eyeing that canari. After a moment, steeling her resolve, she reached forward to run her finger down the etched patterns on the sides.

( She should know by now to keep her distance. )

Thelma peered over from her bed.

"What was that?"

"Remind me not to do that again," Cassie muttered, trying to shrug off the uncomfortable feeling that still remained.

Cassie only resisted the urge to roll her eyes as she was far more focussed trying to rub the tingling sensation out of her fingertips.

She nodded silently after a moment, still trying to make sense of what she'd seen.

"...it was really bad, wasn't it?" Thelma said, standing up and walking towards Cassie.

"Wasn't nice," Cassie replied hesitantly. "Shouldn't have expected anything less, really."

Cassie managed a little smile. "Intending to take my mind off things, are you?"

"You're definitely here for more than that," Cassie replied folding her arms around herself.

"So, where is it you're taking me?"

"All Souls," Thelma said. "A bit of a drink and a dance does wonders, I think."

"Especially those chocolate things," Cassie agreed, giving a slight nod. "They have got to be good for something."

"I like the way you think," Cassie said, unfolding her arms again and gesturing at Thelma as if to emphasize this point.

Thelma decided this was a good time to give Cassie a bit of a hug. "And we'll see where the night takes us."

Cassie smiled, happy to hug her back and make the most of something far more reassing than anything she'd just seen. "That we will," she said.
