Cassie got back from her somewhat interrupted run and immediately showered and settled back into her day of not very much. She switched on her laptop and tied her hair up into a ponytail while she waited for it to load.
She was greeted by yet another email from David. She'd been given express instructions to keep him updated, and so far had totally neglected to follow aforementioned orders. He didn't seem to approve of this very much, and as he was her headmaster until a short while ago she figured that was actually a fairly reasonable response.

You aren‘t ignoring these, I hope
I want to hear just how this summer excursion of yours is going. I know you said it wasn't interesting. However, anything that has you skipping out on the end of a term is of interest to me.
Indulge my curiosity, please.
David Tyrel.
Cassie thought for a moment before shooting off a reply. She kind of wished there was more she could give him. Leaving early to hang out in an empty place surrounded by swamp for a couple of weeks seemed a little redundant.

Wouldn‘t dream of it
It's going well. Thelma and I have
a dorm together still and get to
hang out as much
as we did before, so some things never change. Even met
some new people out here. Seem to have a lot in common with at least
one.
The local cat already appears to have earmarked my extremities as 'edible', and I even tried
running this morning in a misguided attempt at post-Easter exercize.
...Is that enough information to keep you happy?
Cassie.
The door was propped open by means of a sketchbook stuffed under it, just in case anyone might be passing and want to drop in.
