How Anakin was conceived is a bit of a mystery. His mother had once said that there was no father that out of a virgin birth, Anakin was created and she carried him then raised him. However, it's been thought of that the force had created Anakin and put him inside of Shmi Skywalker. When Anakin was born, he was born into slavery and at the age of three moved to the planet known as Tatooine. Even as he grew older, he didn't seem to mind though he worried about his mother a lot and would always create droids out of what little tools he had to help his mother around the house. He had strange special abilities to work with machines and was rather good at it too. At the same time though, he worked in the shop of the man who owned Shmi and Anakin, Watto. Now and then, Anakin would participate in podracing but was always lost however, he claims to be the only human who can even do it.
Around the age of nine, while he was working in Watto’s shop, Anakin met a group of people who would change his life forever. Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, Jar Jar Binks, R2-D2 and lastly, Padmé Amidala. Qui-Gon had been looking for parts for his ship so he went in back with Watto to talk about that stuff while Anakin watched over the shop. The young boy was attracted to Padmé and wanted her to notice him, so he started a conversation. The first thing he ever said to her was “Are you an angel?” most likely his way of flirting and figured it would work. Padmé was shocked by this and Anakin explained that pilots that come into the shop talk about space angels a lot, that they are the most beautiful creatures in the whole galaxy. They kept on talking, even after getting off the subject of angels and Padmé found out that Anakin was a slave. However, being called a slave made Anakin somewhat angry and he told her that he was a person who had a name. Padmé quickly apologized. Qui-Gon returned to the front of the shop and the newcomers had left. Watto then told Anakin if he cleaned the racks that he could go home early, so, a little happy Anakin bounced over and finished his task and set off to go home. On his was though, there was one of the peoples from the shop earlier that day, Jar Jar and already he was getting people angry at him. He almost got his butt kicked by Sebulba but Anakin jumped in and managed to save Jar Jar. Anakin was then showing his new friends around the city, even handing Qui-Gon some candy which Anakin had gotten from a friend. It was here that Anakin got a glimpse of Gui-Gon’s lightsaber that hung from his belt and he knew that this man was a Jedi.
A sandstorm then started, and Anakin asked his friends where their ship was. Realizing that it was too far for them to walk without getting caught in the storm, he took them home with him and said sandstorms were very, very dangerous. When he brought his new friends home, right away he introduced them to his mother who didn't seem to mind that her son brought strangers home. Qui-Gon and Shmi started to talk but Anakin wasn't interested in what they were saying, he wanted to show Padmé the things he created and literally dragged the girl to his room to show him C3PO. He turned the droid on and even put on it's missing eye, it was working and seemed in perfect shape, the only thing missing was it's "skin" since all the wires were still showing. When Padmé said that C3PO was perfect, Anakin couldn't wait to show her more things and told her he'd show her the racer he was building for the next podrace.
During dinner, Anakin and his mother told their guests that slaves have chips in them and Anakin told them a little secret, that he was trying to locate his chip because if he could get that out then he'd be free since any attempts to escape would blow a person up. Anakin even smacked his hand on the table and screamed "boom!". After Shmi and Padmé talked about the anti-slavery laws and how the republic didn't exist out where they were, Anakin brought up the subject of podracing. Qui-Gon seemed to have been familiar with it and said that from what he knew it was dangerous. Anakin told him he is the only human he can do it and Qui-Gon then began putting thoughts into Anakin's little head. Because if he could race pods then he must have Jedi reflexes. This brought up the topic of Jedi, and Anakin had been curious, he wanted to know if Qui-Gon was one or not since he said he saw the lightsaber. Anakin firmly believed that no matter what you couldn't kill a jedi so the lightsaber had to belong to Qui-Gon. Anakin then told them of a dream he once had where he was a Jedi and with his powers he came to Tatooine and freed all the slaves, then figured that Qui-Gon was doing what Anakin had dreamed of doing. Qui-Gon was here to free them and there was no way Anakin was going to think otherwise.
Padmé told Anakin about how their ship was damaged, it's how they came to the outer rim. They needed the parts since they couldn't leave until it was finished. Anakin wanted to help them and offered. He could fix things up easily, but since they needed parts and the money they had wasn't accepted out here there was no way of getting them. So, Anakin offered to participate in the podrace that was coming up. If he could win the pize money would have been more than enough to help out his friends. Shmi however, didn't like this idea. She hated seeing her son get hurt but Anakin enjoyed podracing and he begged his mother to let him, even saying that he could use the pod he was working on and Qui-Gon could tell Watto that it was his and was just letting Anakin ride it for the race. After Shmi realized that there was nothing else the strangers could do, she allowed Anakin to be in the race since he was meant to help them. After talking to Watto, the alien agreed. If Anakin won the race, they would split the winnings 50/50 and they would get the parts they needed. However, if Anakin was to lose the race, Watto would keep the queen's ship. So either way Watto would win hence why he agreed to allow his slave to enter the race. They went back to Anakin's house and started up the pod, it was working and everything seemed to be fine. Nothing could go wrong. That night, Qui-Gon took a blood sample from Anakin and lied to the boy, saying that he was making sure Anakin had no infections when in reality he was sending the sample to his padawan, Obi-Wan, to get a midi-chlorian count on Anakin. It's said that Anakin has the highest midi-chlorian count ever, more than Master Yoda had. Though of course, at the time, Anakin had no idea and wasn't told. No one knew what this meant though.
The next day was the big day. Qui-Gon had given Anakin some words of advise saying that Anakin should trust his feelings, clear his head then told him "May the force be with you". The podrace began and while all the other pods had started and left the starting point, Anakin had stayed behind. His pod was lagging; it jolted forward once but afterwards didn’t move at all. He couldn’t figure out what the problem was, he test ran it the day before and it worked then all of a sudden, nothing. He almost started to panic because if he didn’t win this race then he wouldn’t be able to help his new friends and he wanted to help them more than anything. After messing around with the buttons a few times, Anakin managed to get the pod to work and he sped off, though he was in last place right now, it’d take a miracle to catch up. And that’s what he got. He slowly started to reach the other racers, but he didn’t catch up to first right away where Sebulba was taking the lead. There had been few times where his pod almost fell apart, but by using the force Anakin had managed to make sure it was still intact. During the race, mostly every pod had been destroyed. Either they crashed into a pillar of rocks or they were destroyed because of Sebulba. He was also shot at a few times by Tusken Raiders though that didn’t stop him. During the second lap, Anakin was moving up quickly and was already in third place, when Sebulba threw a chunk of metal into the pod that was in front of young Anakin and it malfunctioned. It was destroyed and while Anakin tried to avoid it, it was unsuccessful; one of the cables was destroyed.
In lap three, Anakin managed to get back up to the top again and for most of the race he was side to side with Sebulba. The alien however, didn’t like this that a human boy was trying to beat him. A human slave boy at that and the alien tried everything in his power to throw Anakin off course. It worked once, Anakin was in the area where viewers were watching, whom weren’t in the stadium. It was a short cliff too and with the press of a few buttons, Anakin’s pod was in the air and he managed to get it back to the ground safely and this time he was in the lead. For the first time he was in front of Sebulba. But Anakin didn’t have time to rejoice because his engine began to fail and he came to a complete stop. After getting it working again, Anakin raced back up to Sebulba and the alien tried to throw Anakin off again, taking his pod and bumping it into Anakin’s. However, this didn’t go according to plan because Anakin and Sebulba’s wires got tangled up and the two were stuck together. Both were trying to figure out how to get un-stuck and Anakin sped forward, using the speed to not only get loose but also to damage Sebulba’s pod. Sebulba’s pod had crashed and Anakin crossed the finish line.
He became the first human to make it across the finish line. He was the first human to even win a podrace. Not only did Anakin get prize money that helped out his friends so they could do their duty, not only did he get the Boonta cup but Anakin was also a free man. He no longer belonged to Watto, thanks to Qui-Gon who kept on betting and even bet on Anakin’s freedom. After the race, Qui-Gon took the parts and returned to his ship then return to the city by himself to go get Anakin. During that time, Anakin managed to sell his pod and get a lot of money for it, which he gave to his mother. When he gave it to his mother, Qui-Gon gave the news that Anakin had been freed. Anakin was excited to have learned this but then that excitement vanished when he asked about his mother. Qui-Gon told him that he tried to get his mother free but Watto wouldn’t have it. Anakin left his home, promising to his mother that some day he would return to free her. Leaving his mother though had been the hardest thing for Anakin and it hit him pretty hard. On his way back to the ship though, a sith had attacked Qui-Gon and ran on the ship. Qui-Gon managed to escape and waved it off as nothing, then introduced Anakin to Obi-Wan. Right away, Anakin liked Obi-Wan because hey, this guy was a Jedi too! How cool was that? Meeting two jedi in the course of only a few days.
The Naboo ship then headed towards the planet Coruscant and during their journey there, Anakin found himself in a seat in the back of the ship all cuddled up. Padmé had happened to come to the area where Anakin was at, only to check messages that they had received from people trapped on the planet of Naboo. Anakin told her that he was cold, it was the first time he had been in space after all, but he also missed his mother. Anakin also knew that once they got to Coruscant that he might begin his training as a Jedi and would never see Padmé again, so he made her a necklace, a little carving and gave it to her so she'd remember him. Even if Padmé said she didn't need this to remember him by, Anakin wanted her to have it anyway. When they reached the planet, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan went to speak with the council while Anakin went with Padmé and the Queen to Palpatine's apartment and he just hung out there until he was needed to go to see the council. When he was told of his meeting, he went to go see Padmé however it seemed that Padmé wasn't in. Instead he talked to the Queen and said he just wanted to tell her goodbye. The Queen promised that they would tell her his goodbye when she returned. With that, he went to go meet the council members.
Anakin was tested and he passed however, Master Yoda couldn't figure out what the boy's future was. He asked him how he felt and Anakin responded with "cold", they were all invading his head though. They knew he was thinking about his mother and he admitted he missed her. The conversation ended with Yoda stating that he sensed a lot of fear inside of Anakin. Later that night, the council told Qui-Gon that Anakin wouldn't be trained as a Jedi. Qui-Gon was about to ignore what they had said and train Anakin anyway, but he had a padawan as it was, he was forbidden to take on another. When they left and were heading back the the ship to go to Naboo, Qui-Gon told Anakin that while he couldn't train him, Anakin should watch him at all times and he'll pick up a few things. Anakin didn't want to be a problem though but Qui-Gon reassured him that he wasn't.
When they got to Naboo, in front of a large group of Gungans, Padmé ran in front of the Queen and began talking - she told them that the person dressed as the Queen was in fact a decoy and Padmé was the real queen. Anakin found this a complete shock but it still didn't change her view of her. They managed to sneak into the castle and Anakin got in a ship and hid in the cockpit. Qui-Gon told him to stay there and not leave, and he was planning on doing just that. But while Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon went off and fought Darth Maul, Anakin by mistake started up the ship. R2-D2 was also in the ship with him and began to yell at the boy who understood the language and said he wasn't going back. The ship was on autopilot that R2 easily took off and Anakin found it easier to control the ship. However, he got hit and found himself inside of the Droid Control Ship. He managed to get the ship started again and threw up the shields then shot at droids BUT Anakin MISSED and he hit the wall and blew up the ship. Thankfully he managed to get out in time. Anakin became a hero already at the age of nine. He helped save Naboo, because as soon as the Droid Control Ship was destroyed? All battle droids on Naboo were shut down.
But, when Anakin returned back from space and on Naboo... he found out something horrible. That sith lord that attacked Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan... had killed Qui-Gon. This hurt the boy but he tried to not let it get to him and thought only about his victory. Anakin remet with Palpatine for a few seconds and it was here that they became friends. Palpatine said that he would watch over Anakin's career with great interest. But with Qui-Gon gone, what sort of career did Anakin have now? During the man's funeral (the burning of the body), Anakin asked Obi-Wan what would become of him. He wasn't sure if he could return to his home planet even if he missed his mother. He could become a slave again and that was something Anakin didn't want. But Obi-Wan cheered the boy up by telling him that the council agreed to allowing Obi-Wan to train Anakin. The next day, Naboo held a celebration. They were free from the trade federation's control and they had gained new friends, the Gungans. Before the celebration, Anakin had received his jedi hair cut that he would keep as a padawan followed by the braid and the outfit. His was now officially Obi-Wan's apprentice.
The Jedi left Naboo and Anakin's training began. He developed faster than all the padawans even for starting off older than the rest of them.
10 years had passed and Anakin was now 19, and still a padawan. Due to certain events, he was reunited to Padmé Amidala. He was nervous about the reunion, he was tense and sweating and was told countless of times to relax from his Master. As soon as he saw her again, he couldn't hold himself and his feelings for Padmé and told her that she had grown even more beautiful than he had remembered, but realizing what he had said he began to stutter and sorta corrected himself, saying that for a Senator she was pretty and all Padmé did was laugh and say he'd always be that boy on Tatooine. That didn't at all help the situation, Anakin had the urge to make himself noticed, to have her notice him and he'd do anything to make it possible.
When they all sat down in Padmé's apartment to discuss the situation, Obi-Wan had stated that they wouldn't be able to find out who was trying to kill Padmé, just protect her and Anakin jumped in, saying that they would find out and he even promised it. Here Obi-Wan said that they wouldn't do anything unless the council instructed it. But Anakin wasn't letting this go, not at all. He was putting up a fight in the matter, most likely to show Padmé that he was brave. Obi-Wan ended up nearly snapping at Anakin and then added "You will learn your place, young one". All Anakin could do in response was lower his head and slowly nod. Padmé finished off the whole conversation saying that merely them being here would bring light to the matter and she left.
Anakin got up and went to talk to Jar Jar Binks, an old friend from ten years ago. While Jar Jar exclaimed that he was so happy to see Anakin, Anakin couldn't get his mind off of Padmé. He said that she didn't even recognized him, that every moment since they had departed he thought of her and that Padmé had forgotten Anakin completely. Obi-Wan jumped in the conversation, telling Anakin he was focusing on the negative and to be mindful of his thoughts, then in a low whisper stated Padmé had been pleased to see them, making Anakin somewhat calmer. Then they started to check security.
While Obi-Wan went to the main floor in the apartment, Anakin stayed in Padmé's apartment. She was going to bed and there was Anakin in the living room, watching the cameras that had showed everything going on in Padmé's bedroom. The next thing he knew she covered the cameras. When his master had returned, he told him about the cameras and that Padmé had programmed R2-D2 to let them know in there were any intruders. Obi-Wan caught on that they were going to be using her as bait, and Anakin said it was all Padmé's idea. But that he could sense everything going on in that room so no harm would come to her.
Getting off the topic of Padmé, Anakin had gone to the window to get fresh air and just looking out at the passing speeders. Obi-Wan was watching him and noted that Anakin looked tired, Anakin's response was that he hadn't been getting much sleep lately, and Obi-Wan knew what he was talking about. Dreams, nightmares about Anakin's mother and he didn't know why he had these dreams, they were of course of her dying so rather than face the dreams, Anakin simple didn't sleep at times. Obi-Wan had been trying to reassure him, telling his apprentice that in time dreams pass. Jumping topics again, they began to talk about how politicians couldn't be trusted, though Anakin seemed to think differently, he was close friends with the Chancellor, Palpatine and he seemed to have trust Padmé because he was attracted to her.
Anakin's sentence had been cut off short because the two, Master and apprentices, both sensed something strange happening in Padmé's room and they knew someone was attempting to take her like again. They ran into her room, but Anakin was quick to take action. He jumped on her bed, with the lightsaber already out and attacked these two maggot-like creatures known as Kouhun that would have killed Padmé. Padmé woke to find Anakin on top of her and the creatures dead. The next thing that happened, while people rushed in to Padmé's room was that Obi-Wan noticed a droid of some sort outside the Senator's window and he jumped through it, shattering the glass and grabbing on to the small droid that was flying away.
Anakin was stunned by this course of action taken by his Master and ordered Padmé to stay there in her room and he ran out of the apartment to where the open cockpit was at and began to pick a speeder that he really liked. It was a yellow little thing that seemed fast enough and the search for his Master was on. It shouldn't have been too hard, find someone hanging off a droid, simple. And he could sense his master's presence it was just getting there on time, in which he did. After the droid his master had been holding on to was destroyed and he began to fall, Anakin noticed him right away and sped up and after positioning the speeder correctly, Obi-Wan caught on to the speeder and got in the passenger seat. Obi-Wan seemed to be curious as to know why it took Anakin so long so Anakin told him, he wanted to find the right type of speeder and Obi-Wan said that if Anakin had taken more time out to practice with his lightsaber as he did with the speeder then he'd be able to rival Master Yoda. Here, Anakin assumed he already had, being the chosen one and all. Obi-Wan merely corrected him, saying that it was only in his mind that he rivaled Yoda.
Obi-Wan pointed out the craft that the assassin was in and Anakin followed it. Zam Wesell, the assassin tried everything in her power to get rid of the two jedi that were on her tail. While chasing her though, Anakin was showing off his skills as a pilot. There had been a huge ship that Anakin would have crashed into and Obi-Wan kept telling him to pull up and of course he wouldn't. He was having too much fun and was even laughing until he realized that he had to pull up and when he did so, a bit of the speeder had hit the other one but it didn't damage it, just scared Obi-Wan a bit. Anakin then remembered that Obi-Wan didn't like flying though Obi-Wan, once again corrected Anakin and said he didn't mind flying but what Anakin had been doing was suicide.
As they followed Zam, Anakin had gone through a power coupling, and the way Obi-Wan had said it made it seem that Anakin had done it quiet a few times before in the past. It zapped them but thankfully didn't turn their bodies numb. The chase went on and Zam went though a tunnel however, Anakin didn't follow her. When Obi-Wan pointed out that she went the OTHER WAY, Anakin told him that it was a short cut, or at least, he hoped it was. It turned out though that Anakin completely lost the assassin. Obi-Wan was giving him a lecture, though Anakin didn't listen to a word of it because he was too busy scanning the area and noticed something and in the middle of Obi-Wan's sentence, Anakin had said "Well if you excuse me" and jumped out of the speeder, falling. He managed to catch on to Zam's own craft and nearly fell off a few times as she tried shaking him off. With his lightsaber, he ran the blade through the window and was most likely trying to cut her arm off, but with her blaster she shot him and he lost his grip on the blade and it went flying out of his hands. So he just stuck his hand through the hole he had created and grabbed on to the blaster, shooting at some of the controls inside the craft and making Zam lose control and crash into some crowded street.
When Anakin saw that Zam had survived the crash, he ran after her. There she ran into the club and Anakin ran into Obi-Wan. He informed his master where she had gone and Obi-Wan told Anakin that he just needed to use the force, he needed to think. Anakin just respond with "Yes, Master" and tried to enter the club. Obi-Wan told him that the person went in the club to hide, not to run. When Anakin thought he was able to get away from the lecturing Obi-Wan, his master held up a little surprise for the young padawan. His lightsaber. It seemed when he lost it before, Obi-Wan had managed to catch it. He was told to try not to lose it again, the the lightsaber is his life. Anakin took the weapon, nearly rolling his eyes and as they both entered the club, Obi-Wan basically saw into the future.
"Why do I get the feeling you're going to be the death of me?"
But innocent little Anakin didn't think he'd be able to do such a thing. He knew for a fact he would never hurt Obi-Wan, this man was his mentor after all, it was the only thing close to a father that he had. Anakin then had been ordered to go and walk around the club, looking for this person. When Anakin wondered what Obi-Wan would be doing, he was informed that the older man would be getting a drink. Real nice, Anakin was doing all the dirty work while his master got to relax and drink. As he walked around, he used his jedi mind tricks once on an alien girl who was in the middle of a conversation and stopped to look at Anakin while playing with her "hair". He wandered around, looking everywhere he could and the more he walked, the more females would glance at him, this time he didn't pay attention to them.
Then he heard a sound, the sound of a lightsaber that came from Obi-Wan. When he walked to the spot Obi-Wan as at, he saw Zam on the floor and missing a hand. At least his master wasn't hurt, but he did start a scene. So, as Obi-Wan took Zam, Anakin waved his hand and told the people to go back to their drinks, this was all Jedi business. He most likely used the Jedi mind trick because right away everyone went back to their drinks, no one thought twice about what had just happened. Obi-Wan had lifted Zam up and dragged her outside of the club where Anakin followed. They put her on the ground and Obi-Wan began asking questions. It seemed the bounty hunter knew who she was trying to kill and when Obi-Wan asked who hired her, she wouldn't speak. Anakin, in this soft, nice voice asked her to tell them. He had waited a few seconds before screaming at her. When she started to speak, the bounty hunter was hit with a dart and died right there, then the two jedi turned to see another bounty hunter take off. They didn't have time to chase after him and the two returned to Senator Amidala's place to make sure she was all right.
The next morning the two went and stood in front of the Jedi Council. They told them of the bounty hunter and the fate of her and it was decided that the two would split up. Obi-Wan was given the mission to go and search for the bounty hunter that killed the one they were chasing the night before. As for Anakin, he also got his own mission. He was to escort the Senator back to her home world of Naboo and watch here and make sure no harm came to her. Anakin went off to Palpatine's office and told him of what the council had ordered and asked Palpatine if he could talk the senator into leaving the capital. They're conversation though, got off topic, no longer on the senator but it was on Anakin, on how he was now given his own mission even if it was protecting someone. Palpatine said that Anakin's own patience had paid off but Anakin thought otherwise, he believed that the man's guidance helped more than patience. This man was his closest friend after all, he had always been there for Anakin ever since he started his jedi training. He was like his second father.
After his talk with Palpatine, Anakin made his way to Padmé's apartment and watched as she packed. She wasn't amused with what the council was doing but Anakin tried to tell her that with there now being an investigation, it wouldn't take his master a long time to figure out who the killer is. Anakin was giving Padmé words of advise, trying to sound smart to impress her and she noted that he had grown up. This just made Anakin a tad bit angry. How was it that Padmé could see it andObi-Wan, his master, couldn't? The subject shifted to Obi-Wan and as Anakin spoke, he used the force to make a metal ball float, basically showing off his abilities to Padmé. He acknowledged that his master was as wise as Master Yoda and as powerful as Master Windu and he was thankful to be the man's apprentice but despite all of that, Anakin believed that he was really ahead of his own Master and he believed that he was ready for the trials however Obi-Wan thought otherwise. As Anakin spoke more and more about how Obi-Wan wasn't allowing him to move on he got angry and quickly too and said that it just wasn't fair. Padmé had to talk to Anakin to get him to calm down, in which he did after sighing. She then told him to not grow up too fast and Anakin said that she just said he was grown up. The way he spoke to her though, he had this look in his eyes and this smirk that made Padmé feel uncomfortable and she even told him this, but the look he had didn't leave. He apologized and only smiled more.
When Padmé finally finished packing up all her clothes they were ready to leave the planet as refugees. Before the departed, Obi-Wan had went with them, along with Padmé's handmaiden and a pilot. Before getting off the bus and on the the refugee ship, Anakin and Obi-Wan did the whole "May the force be with you" and they left, Anakin was nice enough to grab some of Padmé's bags since he didn't have any clothing of his own (yes he wears the same thing everyday) because of Jedi rules and what not. As they got off the bus, Padmé expressed that suddenly she was afraid and Anakin admitted that since this was his first mission, by himself, he was too. But, he tried to make things... less awkward and he cracked a joke. "I am too, but don't worry, we have R2 with us." and it worked, because Padmé laughed at that and just seeing her laugh, made Anakin smile.
On the ship, for the most part it was quiet. During dinner they did talk though, Anakin didn't really touch his food and just watched Padmé.Padmé brought up the subject of being a jedi, wondering if his life was difficult since he sworn his life to the Jedi, and she began listing things like not being able to visit places you want to visit or do things you want to do and then Anakin jumped in going "or be with the people that I love." and it made Padmé wonder if he was even allowed to love. "Attachment is forbidden. Possession is forbidden. Compassion, which I would define as unconditional love... is central to a Jedi's life.So you might say that we are encouraged to love." These words, while most of it is true that last part is twisted to what Anakin believes is right, not what it really true. A jedi cannot know love, it is why they are taken from their families at young ages so they cannot grow attached to them. But by speaking these words, Padmé noted that Anakin had changed, so not only had he grown up but he really did change from that little nine year old boy. But then, Anakin brought out the... creepy side of him. He told the senator that she hadn't changed at all, that she was exactly how he remembered her in his dreams. So, he confessed to her that he did in fact dream about her and this brought about awkward silence. Anakin even knew he had messed up because Padmé didn't respond and she looked down and he looked at her for a bit, before nodding his head and bitting his lower lip.
The ship landed on Naboo and they made their way to the castle where the Queen of Naboo was at. On their way there though, they began talking about nine years ago, about how Padmé was a young queen but she wasn't the youngest and that thinking on it, she wasn't sure if she had been old enough to run a country. Anakin however, from what he had seen thought she did a great job and he even said that the people thought she did a good job. She told him about how she became a senator because of the fact that the Queen had asked her and she couldn't refused and Anakin agreed because he believes that the Republic needs someone like Padmé in office. They reached the castle and a meeting began where Anakin just stood there and listened to things being said. When asked where they wanted to hide, the question was directed towards Anakin but Padmé jumped in and gave off ideas. Anakin didn't like this, he was in charge of protecting her so he was in charge of where they were going to stay. And besides, being called a padawan learner in front of everyone seemed somewhat embarrassing. Padmé told Anakin that since this was her home planet she knew it very well and that Anakin should respect this knowledge.. After twitching just slightly and holding back what looked like a glare and trying to replace it with a forced smile, Anakin apologized and the two started out for the lake house.
Before they arrived at the lake house, the two took a small stop to Padmé's home where Anakin met her family. They had arrived just in time for dinner too. Anakin had, for the most part stayed quiet and even when he spoke he voice was low. Padmé introduced him to her sister, Sola, who was teasing Padmé the whole time during dinner. She even went as far as to tell Anakin that he was the first boyfriend for Padmé to ever bring home. Of course, Padmé got all defensive about that and how he wasn't her boyfriend, that he was a jedi protecting her and Anakin looked away. There might have been a part of him that was sad about the "not being her boyfriend" part but he tried to hide it. When Padmé's mother asked him if she was in serious danger, Anakin didn't lie and he told the truth that she was in fact. After dinner, Padmé, her mother and sister took the dishes and cleaned them while Anakin went outside with Padmé's father and the two were just talking. Most likely, the next day the two took a boat and went to the lake house. Padmé told Anakin that she used to come here all the time for school. She told him about how her and the classmates would swim to an island everyday and the talk of an island brought up sand, in which Anakin said he didn't like. Sand brought up old memories of his mother and his home planet. Besides, it was rough and it got everywhere. He stated that he liked it here on Naboo because everything was soft and smooth, but in reality he was talking about Padmé.
As he spoke, he slowly put a hand on her arm and trailed it up to her back, that due to her outfit was exposed. While touching her, she never did object, just turned to look at him and in response was that awkward smile of his. He then slowly started to lean in closer, his body jerked back a few times like he wasn't sure if he should do what he was about it do but all thoughts were lost and he kissed Padmé who didn't seem to mind. Because he was a jedi too and he isn't allowed to love, this right here was most likely Anakin's first kiss. It was short lived too because a few seconds after it had started, Padmé pulled away saying she shouldn't have done that. This left Anakin confused and doing what he had done before when he made a mistake, he apologized.
They then went on a picnic and Anakin was curious about Padmé's first crush and he kept pushing it, wondering what the guy was like. She gave in finally and told him, giving a description on how he looked. Anakin wasn't amused one bit and he stopped her, saying he got the picture. Then he was curious about what happened to this guy and Padmé said she went off into politics and he became an artist and they never saw each other again. Anakin then insulted her, but of course he didn't mean to. But he said that her crush was most likely the smart one and Padmé jumped to the conclusion that Anakin didn't like politicians. This was the truth though he said he only liked two or three. He then told her of a way that he'd like to see things run. Where people just get together, talk about what the problem is and think about what would be good for the people then just do it and if no one agreed? Then have someone force them to agree. Padmé told him it sounded a lot like a dictatorship but it seemed that Anakin didn't mind that, just as long as it worked.
Later that day, Anakin decided he would show off again and got on the backs of a creature there. The creature didn't seem to like the idea of Anakin on it's back and it was running around, almost trying to throw Anakin off but Anakin was keeping his balance. He was standing up, pretending like the creature was a surf board basically. Finally, it threw Anakin off him and even ran across him, hurting him in the process. Anakin tried to get up a few times but he fell right to the ground, and didn't move. Padmé, thinking he was in serious trouble, ran over to him and turned him over so he'd be on his back. Right away, Anakin started laughing and this caused Padmé to smack him but she also laughed. The two then began acting like kids and rolled around on the grass and when the stopped, Padmé was on top of Anakin, looking down at him. It was like they were about to kiss again but they didn't. After they're afternoon of fun and relaxation, they headed back to Varykino retreat for dinner. Anakin kept on showing off in front of Padmé by using the force to lift up the fruit she was eating and bring it to his plate. He then began to cut it up for it, also saying that if Obi-Wan caught him doing this, he'd be very grumpy. Once it was cut up, Anakin used the force to bring it back to Padmé who then caught it with her fork. That night, the two were in a living room area where the lights were dim and the only real lighting was from the fire going on.
Anakin couldn't hold in his feelings anymore. He had to get them out, he had to let Padmé know what he was feeling. He told her that after he met her that he couldn't stop thinking about her and being near her again, it hurts him. He told her that the thought of not even being with her hurts and that he couldn't even breathe. He brought up the kiss and told her that it's haunting him and he even knew full well that she shouldn't have given it to him. Every time he spoke though, Padmé seemed to have been inching away on the couch because of Anakin's words. He then asked her what is it that he can do, he basically went back into slave mode. Whatever she asked him to do, he would do it. However, Padmé didn't respond and it only hurt Anakin more. He wanted to know what she was thinking and her mind was too strong, he couldn't use mind tricks but even if he could he cared about her too much to do so. But he wanted to know if she was suffering, hurting as much as he was. But even if she was, Padmé wasn't planning on telling Anakin. It got to the point that she nearly yelled at him. She wasn't about to let him give up everything that he is trying to become just for her. But if it meant being together with Padmé, then Anakin wouldn't have minded. He'd give up being a jedi for her. Anakin also told her that he wished he could just wish all his feelings for her away but he couldn't and he didn't know what to do.
Then... he came up with an idea. An idea that they could still be together but they could keep it a secret. There was no reason that others needed to know. He seemed to like this idea but Padmé didn't. They would be living a lie and it was something that she couldn't do and she even asked Anakin if he could do that and after a moment he even agreed that she was right and that was the end of the conversation. Hurt, Anakin went to bed but he began having one of his nightmares, about his mother. He was talking in his sleep, calling out to his mother whom in the dream was suffering and in a lot of pain. He woke up, out of breath and after that wasn't able to go back to sleep. He went outside and for awhile just meditated, clearing his mind and trying to control his emotions. Early in the morning, Padmé came out to visit him but she was about to leave. Anakin, having sensed her, asked her not to go. He said that her presence is soothing, it helped him get his mind off his mother. Padmé confronted him about his nightmare but Anakin was trying to hide it and said Jedi don't have nightmares however this didn't fool Padmé and he knew that. So he came out and told her what he had saw, his mother whom was in pain, who needed him. He apologized to her and then said he needed to go, that he didn't have a choice. Padmé seemed to have understood and said she was going with, but he still felt bad about disobeying his mandate to protect her. Putting his mother before her and all.
They got into Padmé's Naboo Yacht, a starship, and headed for Tatooine. After landing, they made their way towards Watto's shop who was outside trying to fix a droid. Anakin began to speak in Huttese, and offered to help. He fixed up the droid and right away Watto knew Anakin was a jedi but he didn't know who this jedi was. It wasn't until Anakin said he was looking for Shmi Skywalker that Watto took a guess at it and was right. He got distracted and asked Anakin if he could help him get money that people owed him but Anakin's mind was set on his mother. Watto told him the truth, that he sold Shmi to someone called Cliegg Lars who freed and even married her. After glaring at Watto, Anakin got the location of where Lars' farm was at and he went there with Padmé. Upon arriving there, Anakin ran into C3PO, and noticed his creation right away. C3PO also noticed his master was was excited to see him, when he told C3PO that he was looking for his mother, the droid took him to meet Owen. Right away, Owen Lars who said "I guess I'm your step-brother". Anakin didn't care that he now had "new" family members, he was more interested in finding his mother. Then Cliegg, Anakin's Stepfather came and after they all sat down in the kitchen, his stepfather told him what had happened. A bunch of Tusken Raiders captured Shmi and they never saw her again. About thirty people went out to go look for her, only five came back and Cliegg lost a leg. Cliegg told Anakin that he mother was dead, he even was calling him "son" but Anakin wouldn't budge. His nightmares told him otherwise that he mother was still alive. So he went out to look for her. Before leaving, he hugged Padmé goodbye, saying that these were good people and they'd look after her until he came back, then took Cliegg's bike and rode off.
He finally found the camp and after sneaking in, he used the force to sense his mother. He located what hut she was in, he used his lightsaber to cut a hole in through the back so he'd sneak in un-noticed. As soon as he entered though, Anakin saw something he never, in his life wanted to see. Something he expected to only be in his dreams, not have it be reality. There, tied to some sticks was his mother, all cut up and bleeding, her eyes closed. Anakin rushed over to his mother's side and undid the binds around his wrists and held her. It took her a moment to open her eyes then she realized who it was, it was her son. She was finally complete. She had been freed and her son was a jedi and she was so proud of him, even telling him that. Then she tried to speak again but she was too weak at this point. She kept repeating herself "I... love---" then would stop and re-say them. Anakin kept telling her to hold on but... It was too late. His mother's head tilted back and her breathing stopped.
Anakin Skywalker's mother died in his arms. It took the young padawan a moment to realize what had just happened and with a shaking hand, he slowly put it up to her eyes and closed them. Then after that, he allowed all his hate to take over. He was in pain, he was suffering and he wanted people to feel his pain. So, after putting his mother down, he walked out of the hut and with his lightsaber attacked the two Tusken Raiders before attacking the whole clan, not showing any sort of mercy to any of them. He took out not only the men but the women and even the children. No one was alive. Afterwards, he went back to his mother and wrapped her body up in a blanket and took her to the bike he had taken from his step-father and sped off, going back to the farming area.
When Anakin returned, carrying the body, no one spoke. They all watched in silence as he returned, knowing what happened, at least to Shmi anyway. Anakin went to the basement area of the house (that funny enough, would later turn into his son's room later in life) and was just messing around with the tools, fixing random objects that needed to be fixed. Anything to get his mind off his mother's death but it wasn't working. Padmé came to visit him, giving him food. Anakin started to question himself, he didn't know why his mother died, why he couldn't save her and he knew he could have. Padmé told him that he wasn't all powerful and Anakin thought other wise, he thought he should be and then claimed that one day he would become the most powerful Jedi ever and that he would also learn to stop people from dying. He also said that everything was Obi-Wan's fault, because his Master was jealous of him and was holding him back. In a fit of rage, he threw an object across the room. Padmé was clearly worried and asked Anakin what was wrong. Finally... he confessed to her. Anakin told her of what he had done to the clan of Tusken Raiders that captured his mother. How all of them were dead, he slaughtered them like the animals that they were because he hated them. While he told her all this, there were few tears rolling down his face. Then he sat down and proceeded to have a small breakdown.
Later on, the Lars family held a small funeral for Shmi, one that Anakin and Padmé attended. Anakin's step-father said some words but when he was done, Anakin went towards his mother's grave and fell to his knees. After a moment of silence he spoke, in a soft whisper so that no one would really be able to hear him since he was speaking to his mom and no one else, "I wasn't strong enough." then he promised his mother that no matter what he wouldn't fail again. After standing back up, he told her that he missed her, so much, and while talking he had to hold back to tears since there was no way he'd cry in front of everyone there. R2 then appeared, ruining the moment by beeping like crazy. Padmé noticed him and C3PO translated what R2 was saying. Something about a message from an Obi-Wan Kenobi, then asked his creator, Anakin, if he knew anyone by that name. After that, C3PO followed them. Anakin created him so it was only fitting in the droid went with him. Surprised about getting a message from Obi-Wan, Padmé and Anakin returned to the ship and listened to the message then sent it to Coruscant. Obi-Wan was explaining who was behind the assassination attempts involving Padmé and when it ended, Obi-Wan was being attacked by a destroyer droid and it ended. Mace Windu told Anakin that people would go and help Obi-Wan out and that Anakin and Padmé should stay where they were.
Anakin was planning on listening, he wasn't even sure at the moment if the man who was like a father to him was even still alive. Besides, with his mother dying he didn't think that he could save Obi-Wan. But Padmé on the other hand wanted to go to rescue Obi-Wan but Anakin tried to stop her. However, she told him of her ordered "to protect her" and where ever she went, he had to follow. Anakin found this funny and then the two of them went to Geonosis. Upon arriving there, they were attacked right away and split up. Anakin managed to get his hand trapped and when he was finally free, he realized that his blade to the lightsaber was out and his hand having a metal cover on that trapped him... sort of destroyed the blade. He was defenseless. And then... Jango Fett arrived, followed by four destroyer droids. Anakin had been captured and same with Padmé. They both were to be executed.
Before it began though, the two shared, what they believed to be their final words. Anakin told her to not be afraid but Padmé simply responded that she had been dying a little every day since Anakin returned to her life. At this, Anakin was stunned. She was confessing her love to him and he was confused. After saying that they had promised to not fall in love because it would destroy their lives, Padmé just reminded him that their lives were about to be destroyed anyway, with the execution and all. There was silence and Padmé admitted her love to him and the two shared their second kiss with no regrets afterwards. The cart they were in then dragged them out to the stadium and took them to four pillars that were in the center, with Obi-Wan chained to one of them. It was a good thing they stopped kissing too or else Anakin's master would know what was going on between the two, not like at the time it mattered, of course.
After being chained to the pillars, Anakin and Obi-Wan exchanged a few words before they looked ahead of themselves and saw three monsters heading their way. Of course, Anakin was stuck with the really large one to kill him. Anakin had a bad feeling about this, the monsters looks deadly. When he looked over at Padmé, it seemed that she had managed to un-cuff one of the handcuffs and climb to the top of the pillar. She could take care of her self, so Anakin wasn't all to worried, now it was time to take care of his little creature. As soon as it charged forward, Anakin jumped high in the air, then did a flip, landing on the monster's back. He used the chain to wrap it around the monster's horn and the chain was broken from the pillar. It was controlling the monster now. It took Anakin a bit, because he even ended up falling off and being dragged around by it. Finally, there was control over the monster, Anakin had managed to calm it down and he returned to it's back and once again used the chain was a leash of some sort. He first went to go save Padmé, his creature had charged over and with it's horn, killed the creature that would have killed Padmé. Then he told her to jump and now with Padmé out of harms way, he went to go save his master, so all three were on the animal's back now.
When they thought it was over, seven destroyer droids appeared and both jedi were without a weapon. However, after looking around, it seemed that the whole arena was filled with Jedi. One was so kind enough to throw Obi-Wan and Anakin one. Anakin used the saber to get rid of Obi-Wan's handcuffs and Obi-Wan did the same for him. Now, they were able to fight in the battle with nothing stopping them. It was Jedi vs Droids now. Mostly the easy ones that would go down in one easy hit. Though they managed to lose quite a bit of Jedi and they were surrounded by more droids. When they were all about to die it seemed, a bunch of ships came down and started shooting at the droids. The clone troop arrived. When the ships landed, Obi-Wan, Anakin and Padmé jumped into the same one and it flew off. Though the battle wasn't anywhere near being finished. In the ship, they finally found Dooku and Anakin ordered that he be shot down, however they were out of rockets so until they were able to land somewhere, they'd just follow him. However, they were now being shot at and Padmé fell out of it. This upset Anakin a great deal, he wasn't going to leave her there and he kept shouting for the ship to be lowered so he can go save her. Obi-Wan had to finally talk some sense into him, "If Padmé was in your position, what would she do?!" And Anakin realized, even if he had fallen out of a ship, she'd still do her duty and that's what he was going to do.
They got to the hanger where Dooku was at and the two Jedi ran inside, lightsabers out. Anakin couldn't hold back and when Obi-Wan told him that they would take him together, Anakin simply shrugged that off and said he would take Dooku now. And when he ran forward to go and attack him, Dooku simple shot lightning at Anakin and it lifted him up and he hit the ceiling and then fell to the ground. Finally after the pain left, he watched the battle and noticed his Master got attacked and was almost about to be killed. He quickly force jumped his way across the room and used his lightsaber to save his master by blocking the attack. So now Dooku and Anakin were fighting, Anakin had two lightsabers but Dooku managed to easily cut on in half. He was able to keep up with Dooku for a bit, but he had been too slow and Dooku cut off Anakin's right arm, up to the shoulder and pushed him back, where he landed on Obi-Wan's ankle. There was not much more they could do, and Yoda fought off Dooku, who managed to escape. Obi-Wan then had to help Anakin up and Padmé came running in and also helped him. Man, losing an arm is painful.
When they got back to Coruscant, Anakin got a new arm however it was more droid like, than human. It appeared that the robot that was putting on his new limb lacked the things it was required for a human-like arm. But, the mechno-arm was more than enough for Anakin. He was still able to feel things with the hand, the only down side was that it was cold by touch. Besides, he had something to mess with now, because he liked to fix mechanical things, Anakin added different things to his arm in the years to come. After the battle though on Geonosis and he got his replacement arm, Anakin was given permission to escort Padmé home to Naboo. However, he didn't leave right away. Instead, the whole went to the lake house and there they married. It was a private service, because they were going to keep the marriage a secret, the only people whom knew were R2-D2 and C3PO, the only witnesses to this.
Finding a gift for his wife was hard, since Anakin didn't own anything and wasn't allowed to own things. But he wanted to give her something to show his love so after thinking on it, he gave her C3PO however, he stated that he wasn't really giving it to her since he originally had created it for his mother but he was great with working on things around the house and good for conversation, so, he said that basically C3PO would be like a friend for Padmé while Anakin was away, fighting in the war. Sometime after the war began, Anakin became First Lieutenant and he quickly became famous and gained the title of "Hero with no fear" though this name didn't fit Anakin at all because hidden inside of him was fear that ate away at him everyday during the war. He feared for Padmé, he didn't want to lose her and tried everything in his power to see her during the war though it rarely happened. During one of their meetings though, Padmé had given R2-D2 to Anakin though Anakin couldn't accept it, because of the Jedi code. However, Padmé told Anakin the same thing he told her. She wasn't really giving R2 to Anakin, but she was hoping that R2 would become a friend to Anakin. Then finally after all those years, Anakin finally got rid of his Padawan title and became a real Jedi Knight. The braid that Anakin always wore had been cut off by Yoda's lightsaber and this braid meant a lot to Anakin though, so he didn't get rid of it and it was his first, real gift he could give his wife. Something that had meaning behind it and she gladly accepted it.
It was about three years into the war when what everyone thought was the impossible started to happen. Coruscant was being invaded. General Grievous and his army had already captured the Chancellor and this just pissed Anakin off to no end, since this man was also his friend. So after returning from the Outer Rim, Obi-Wan and Anakin went off to Coruscant, fighting in space - just above the planet. Two Jedi, that's all that was needed for this mission. They had a bit of problems before reaching Grievous' ship such as... buzz droids landing on Obi-Wan's starship and Anakin shooting at him to get the droids off and... instead he blew off Obi-Wan's left wing. Then he realized that... it was a bad idea and tried something else and managed to save Obi-Wan. Anakin blasted at Grievous' ship and the shields went down and just as Anakin flew into the ship... his own craft didn't land safely and it blew up as he landed thus arriving in temple. But he wasn't alone, the little Astromech droid, R2-D2, who was with him in his starship, arrived with him.
