It's from Jude. It starred Chris and Kate Winslet. I believe it was David Tennant's first movie role.

Well, I've only seen clips on YouTube, but it seems a bit too dramatic and tragic for my taste. If you Wiki Jude the Obsure,/i> (I believe is the title) you can read the synopsis of the book the film is based on.
